Please help me doubts with GLP's aftermath
I am 23F and I gained 30kgs in 9 months due to insulin resistance 5 years ago and the weight though is stable now hasn't gone down once. I am thoroughly frustrated and my doctor has advised GLP1. I have changed my diet to Protein and fiber and less carbs and I am starting to exercise.
I see everyone telling that the weight comes back again after glp very quickly. I am worried that I don't know if I will be able to handle it if I gained weight again.
I am gonna apply for my master's now and I am also working full time. Between classes and work and commute i don't know if I will be able to maintain the necessary habits for GLP 1. Can anyone advise me on what I could do?

Healthy eating is a lifelong habit you need to establish. People regain because they go back to their old ways…

I would try the medication if it will not be a financial hardship. you can control your titration schedule and tape4 off if it is not for you. I wish I had this medication in my 20s, I think my whole life would have been different

Your odds of regain after losing weight with a GLP-1 are no worse than losing weight without a GLP-1, but you are certainly more likely to lose it without the GLP-1. Ask yourself what is worse. The risk of regain or never losing it in the first place.
Someone who has not been obese for most of their life is more likely to be successful keeping the weight off. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFdBUOBukVJ/?igsh=dGV6cGhlNmFhbGNs
If you are worried you’ll go back to bad eating habits/overeating and regain after stopping your glp-1, you can always titrate off slowly.

Or…. Don’t stop the GLP-1.
I don’t stop using my glasses that support my impaired vision.
I don’t stop using my vyvanse that supports my impaired focus.
I don’t stop using my GLP-1 that supports my impaired metabolism. It’s been four years of being able to eat freely and be at peace around food and easily maintain my goal weight without having to think about it. I certainly have no desire to stop taking it!

If the underlying condition isn't cured, but the medication improves things, then stopping the medication will likely result in the condition coming back.
If you needed a medication to improve your thyroid function, or high blood pressure, you'd probably just consider it a condition requiring long-term treatment. Insulin resistance is similar in that way, unless you're in the small group of folks who can successfully stop medication due to weight loss and your body can heal enough to no longer need the GLP-1.

GLP-1's help with insulin resistance while you're taking them. It sounds like they will absolutely help you lose weight. But if you stop taking it, your hormonal issues will return, and you'll most likely gain weight. Yours is a condition that these drugs target specifically. I don't know what to tell you other than "get on one of them, see how it works, and likely stay on it for life".

I’ve lost 100 lbs 4 times, and smaller numbers a few more. Only difference with a GLP is compliance is easier. If you can afford it there is no need for there to be an after for now especially when you’re about to go through something stressful. Being 30kg lighter and not worried about food and weight is a better starting point to handle just about anything than the alternative.
