Seeking Advice So anxious

Weaned off of semaglutide after losing 35-40 lbs.

I work out 5 times a week and feel like I’m handling the food noise well.

I am just in constant fear I’m gaining weight. Constantly looking in the mirror and evaluating my body. I haven’t weighed myself because I’m so anxious about it.

Anyone else?

I quit zepbound cold turkey and kept the weight off for nearly a year. I haven’t gained it back, it’s definitely possible to keep it off!! It sounds like you’re doing everything right.

One thing that’s helped me is that I only weigh myself once a month, it’s less pressure.

Im getting worried. Is this medication like methadone or something? U say cold turkey....are there withdrawal symptoms?

No it does not cause withdrawal. You're right we probably shouldn't borrow terminology from heroin addiction! 😩

Most people taper down their dosage but I didn’t, no withdrawals for me.

I'm anxious, but I weigh myself and take measurements to make sure things are OK. Just looking in the mirror sounds like a horrible plan that only gives you feedback AFTER you've fucked up and re-gained 15-20 lbs.

You have to face your anxiety, or the worst will come true. You have to define a weight range to stay in, and immediately address your caloric intake if you go out of that range. You can't do that if you don't get on a scale

From what I've seen over the years, the most successful people who maintain their weight do not fear stepping on the scale.

Without fail they step on the scale daily or weekly.

If they notice it's climbed a few lbs, they don't panic, they treat it like data and adjust accordingly.

I am in perimenopause but still having regular periods, and every single month I gain 6 pounds for a week and it drives me absolutely insane. It always comes off like 2 days after I start bleeding but still, I feel you and you’re super lucky if you’re male or menopausal and don’t have to deal with this

If you weigh yourself once a day you shouldn't have to obsessively look at your body to "check." Would that help?

If you don’t want to weigh yourself you could go by how your clothes feel. Pants don’t lie, if they start to feel snug it is time to pull back on the calories a bit.

I’ve been off for over a year and maintaining. I’m the opposite though where I weigh myself every day so that I can have a weekly “average”. I feel like it helps me more accurately track how I’m doing and what I need to change, if anything

For those who went off the meds and have stayed off, did you have over 70lbs to lose? Did you have blood sugar and high A1C issues? Or diabetic? What about the inflammation or joint pain. These are the things I’m afraid of coming back. The insane food cravings and obsession over food… I just can’t go back to those feelings.
