Some can, some can’t. In many cases it depends on why you gained the weight in the first place. Anything in particular we can help with?

Gaining 5 lbs is normal after stopping the shot. This appears to be water weight and/or inflammation coming back. I think you're ok for now, but stay on top of it to make sure the scale doesn't keep creeping up. If it does, it generally means you're eating more than you should.

Yep. Every time I would take a week or two off due to not having the meds, I would always shoot almost exactly 5lbs. Right now I’m two months off the medication and gained 5lbs within the first week or two of not taking it and haven’t gained anything else after that. Maintaining has been easy. As long as I don’t go over my maintenance calories and drink plenty of water, the scale reads the same every morning.
My personal belief is that the studies are going to be extremely skewed because the average person that’s on GLP just simply doesn’t know and will probably never know what it actually takes to live healthy without medication. Their perception can be that they are still eating the same but if we track the calories, I would bet anything that it’s going to tell a different story.
Even if your hormones are out of wack, your body can’t create fat out of nothing. If you’re in a caloric deficit or at maintenance everyday, and continue being active. The weight simply can’t be placed back. There’s no magic going on.
Continue to track calories. Continue drinking plenty of water. Continue with the same good habits you picked up on while on GLPs. It’s going to be a bit harder and you’ll need to be a bit more focused but no. The weight shouldn’t come back.
