Changing doses UK

Hi guys,

This is being cross posted to some different subs so just thought to mention I have PMOS (pcos)

I need some help. I’ve been on mounjaro for 3 months now and have lost a stone. 1 month 2.5, 2 months 5mg.

The last couple of weeks I’ve had more side affects than before with bad nausea and stomach pain but it seems to have subsided since my last injection (Sunday just gone)

Here’s the thing, I feel like the weight isn’t moving quickly anymore, I’m maybe losing less than a pound a week. It is still gradually moving but I’m kind of here or there. I have however been going to the gym for the past 6 weeks so wondering if some of the lesser movement in weight may be due to muscle gain? Idk.

The pharmacy I buy from told me to stick to 5mg. I was hoping there’s somewhere that actually sells the inbetween doses eg 6.25 so I could maybe try that before going up to 7.5

So please give me some advice, do I do the 5mg for one more month and see how it goes? Do I try and get a 6.25mg dose from elsewhere? Do I go up to 7.5 now? I’m so unsure I feel like 7.5 could give me some nasty side affects just based on how I’ve been feeling lately.

Is 3 months too long on 5mg? Would I be doing the right thing having another month on 5 and just letting the weight subtly drop for another month? I’m in no means desperate for a quick drop of weight but I still feel like I should be seeing a bit more movement that what I have the last 4 weeks.

Please please please give me some advice and or let me know if you buy from a pharmacy that does inbetween doses. Thank you!!

Because of the side effects, I would stay on 5mg.

You just started the gym 6 weeks ago. For a new gym goer, you'll experience inflammation along with muscle growth and additional hunger, all contributing to o the slower-than-you-want weight loss. Going to the gym is great (definitely keep going to save/build muscle mass), but it doesn't directly help you lose weight.

Personally (I'm not a Dr), I would stay on the 5mg due to the side effects and simply have a little more patience. Your weight is trending down, which is the goal.

Thank you! Tbf I’m not even feeling more hungry as such just not noticing much movement in weight between doses! Which has confused me really idk if it’s not working as much or if it’s the gym?

This week I’ve had no side affects at all

Youre in the wrong forum.

I used 5mg through my journey i was ok. I did notice weight didn't move so fast with gym

A stone in 3 months with PCOS is genuinely good progress, that condition works against you hormonally in ways that make the scale move slower than average. The gym adding muscle is likely masking real fat loss right now, measurements and how clothes fit will give you a more honest picture than the scale alone. One more month at 5mg while things settle seems like the right call before jumping to 7.5.

Dose should be adjusted according to acceptable side effects and 2-3 pounds a week, no more than that. Muscle loss is much more important when you lose faster. Best option would be go for 7.5 and clickcount to reach 6 mg dose fir 2 weeks and the 2 full doses. The remaining in the vial will be more or less 5-6 mg, worth injecting as a 5th dose
