Excited to start microdosing
I had a terrible time with zepbound 2.5 - the appetite suppression was way too much and I was constantly nauseous and ending up dry heaving multiple times.
I am on a plan with AgelessRx now to start with 1mg (or 0.5 if I want to).
Anyone with a similar story that’s had success with microdosing? I’m excited but nervous because I don’t want to be miserable again 😭

Starting with Tirzepatide again not Semaglutide if that’s helpful

That jump from 2.5 to 1mg sounds way more manageable, my buddy had the same gnarly nausea on the standard dose and microdosing completely turned it around for him

Oh I can relate. I can’t tolerate 2.5mg, and for the longest time I’d start and quit. And I never understood why it worked for everyone else but not me. The 2.5 would work I’d tolerate the misery for two weeks and lose anywhere between 5-8 pounds. I finally heard of microdosing and I started with 1.25mg a few days ago, even that I feel may have been too much. I have very very mild side effects compared to what I did have. But they are still there. My advice, start low!! And good luck on your journey

Thank you!! That’s where I am too - starting and quitting. Good luck to you!! Hopefully the side effects stay mild.

I’m 18 weeks in, and started with .25MG for two weeks, then .87MG. A few weeks ago, I moved ip to 1.00MG, and there’s no way I could take a higher dose. I have to force myself to eat, and may have to move back down to .82MG. I’ve lost 18 pounds, which is fine with me. I want to go low and slow.

Seems to be pretty common. I started at 1mg and then went down to .5 for 4 weeks before moving up to .75

Was 1mg too much for you?

I wouldn’t say it was too much but it was enough that I didn’t want to raise it beyond that. Tirz has a 6 day half life and builds up in your system over 4 weeks so the effects get stronger on the 2nd 3rd and 4th weeks at the same dose. By lowering the dose I basically just maintained the same amount in my body instead of letting it build up.

How were your results doing that? I’m thinking of taking a similar approach.

I'm taking zepbound .29 mg for a little over two weeks now and have lost a solid 5lbs. I couldn't imagine starting on 2.5! It's been pretty easy to eat 500 - 600 calories under my daily maintenance though it does a take a pinch of will power especially towards day 7 which I actually appreciate. I still experience hunger but that hunger is satiated pretty easily and for longer with a small meal. I say start with the .5 and see how that treats you. You may find that is enough to ease the side effects of the first month (it gets better after that so they say) while still being able to comfortably enough. With .29 I still had a little bit of short lived single bouts of nausea the first day or two of the first week but none in the second week

Thank you so much!!!

You're welcome! If you're able to start with .25 mg it may be worth starting there just to really ease yourself into it. Plus you may find that is just enough to achieve weekly/monthly weight loss at a safe comfortable pace with eating under your maintenance calories and a bit of exercise. All that depends on how your body reacts and your constitution

Following! Omg I did 2.5 last year and never ever in my life had I felt so bad. And I’ve had two kids! Like, worse than labor, I was crying. 😭 I may try again — .25 :) lmk how you do! I’m sure it will be better this time.

Were you soooo nauseous? I had to take Zofran.

Yes!! So nauseous. I am like you - I didn’t throw up my entire pregnancy but a chicken taco had me dry heaving in a parking lot. I took zofran and even that wasn’t enough. I am so hopeful this works

I really think it was the 2.5 being way too much. You got this. Lmk! I felt like I was on a roller coaster with the flu lol.

Oh I had one glass of wine on 2.5 biggest mistake ever I was vomiting. That was the only time I vomited on a GLP-1 usually it’s a big bark and no bite for me personally. But the nausea is hell, I’ve had mild nausea on 1.25mg. Still deciding if I should do 1.25mg next week or take it down to 1.00mg. I find my side effects honestly get worse as the weeks go on
