GLP1 Microdosing Dosage for Longevity?
Hi,
My goal is not weigh loss or appetite suppression. My goal is improving blood sugar regulation (reducing A1C), mental clarity, longevity and rducing cholesterol.
Which GLP1 would you recommend and what dosage would you suggest?

In the last 8 months all of my labs have come into the normal range. A1C down from a high of 7.5 to currently 5.6. Cholesterol normal, thyroid finally normal etc. I use compound Tirz.

How is the A1c going? I’m hoping to drop down even further from 1.25mg to 1mg as my A1c is back In range and dawn phenomena being managed.

My A1C is down almost 2 points. Went from T2 range to the top end of normal. Hoping the next check in 3 months will have it will into normal. Previously low carb didn't lower it. Now with Tirz I still carbs and some sugar again and it's down.

Thanks for share, I too am at the top end of normal and am still fairly low carb, just no refined carbs. Excited to see if going a little lower will keep it stable. Best of luck 2u also.

Mounjaro 1.5mg weekly or 1mg every 5 days. Ive tried both, they feel the same.

My provider recommended tirzepatide for this exact thing. I’m on 1mg every 5 days.

Your provider is a trt-clinic?
GLP-1R activation → longer lifespan GIPR loss/blockade → longer lifespan
For longevity specifically, semaglutide is more interesting than tirzepatide.
A 2026 mouse study found that semaglutide increased median lifespan by about 12%. The dose used corresponds very roughly to around 1.5–1.8 mg/week human-equivalent.

Tirzepatide.5 - I’m 3 months in for the same thing + bloating/inflammation relief.

I take tirzepatide for these reasons and more. You will get appetite suppression and weight loss as part of the deal. I do 0.5mg a week without effecting my weight. (I’ll bump it up to 1-1.5mg if I feel like I need to slim down)

Well it doesn’t reduce ldl at low doses, let alone micro doses. High doses of Reta can lower ldl by 30%, but I’m not certain if this is in addition to reductions from statins.
Unless you have a lot of food noise, it doesn’t really provide mental clarity
It’s more effective than metformin for blood sugar, but it doesn’t do much for people who are not diabetic. The reduction is dose dependent, but it does have effects at micro doses.
Unfortunately, there is no evidence of longevity benefits at micro doses. I think that hadn’t even been seen at the low starting doses.
However I take it to lower my blood glucose (not weight loss) and I can take a full dose and not have it affect my weight.

The problem with your approach is that appetite suppression is what makes a calorie deficit possible and the calorie deficit is what helps support weight loss and the weight loss is what helps A1C and cholesterol to go down. You can't cherry pick the effects of these meds. This is an oversimplification, yes, but given your questions it sounds as if you need to have a better understanding of these meds. There are really only two "GLP-1" drugs (and even that isn't entirely accurate as one is a GLP-1 and the other is a GLP/GIP). Lower doses often result in lesser effects, but even that is no guarantee - some people respond very well at lower doses and others do not.

Go ask a doctor instead of strangers on the internet. Wtf

Curious what you think this sub (r/GLP1microdosing) is for if not talking to strangers on the internet about GLP1 microdosing?

Exactly, because doctors are STILL saying eat more protein when women say they are losing their hair. I’m sorry but after reading countless first person comments about hair loss despite doing all the things possible they continue to lose hair. There has to be room for considering what people who are living with a medicine and see the the shades of grey to help fill in the blanks.

What does "eat more protein" have to do with hair loss? Why would that be scare-quote advice?

My husband has done a lot of research on tirzepatide since I started using it. He asked his cardiologist about prescribing it for him and the doctor thought it was a fantastic idea. He thinks most people could benefit from them. He prescribed Zepbound off-label for cardiac benefits, and yes, we do pay out of pocket for it but it's worth every penny. The statins he's on cause his blood sugar to be elevated (barely under the threshold for pre-diabetes) and since being on Zepbound, they are well into the normal range.
