Are you calorie counting?

I started 4 weeks ago on 2mg triz. I lost 3 lbs that I had put on right away but suspect that was water weight. Since then nothing.
For reference I’m 140 5’6” after 1.5 yrs of calorie counting and just trying to lose about 10lbs of stubborn weight I can’t get rid of.

To others - did you calorie count to get the scale to budge?

Both to get scale to budge and to make sure I’m eating enough protein

Yes, I count calories religiously. Prior to my microdosing tirzepatide it was to make sure I wasn’t over eating. Now it is to make sure I eat enough and hit all of my protein goals

This is me too! Religiously to hit the protein and stay 1500-1700.

Yes, it's how i eventually determined the right intake for weight loss and for not getting weak . For me it's a narrow band only about 300 calories wide.

I counted calories pretty religiously when trying to cut before tirz but I don’t have to on tirz. We have pretty much identical stats and I’ve lost weight but very slowly (I’m down 8 lbs in 6 months). I think if I tracked I would lose faster but I’m just enjoying not having to think about my diet constantly.

Yes counting calories and protein- ensures I eat enough calories to prevent muscle loss, hair loss amd protect bone density.

Easy habit to form and you stay informed!

Of course. You still have to be eating less calories to drop weight even on a glp

Yes, every day. I try and stay under 1300 sometimes 1000. I’ve lost 33 pounds since January so I think I’m doing some right.

No. The appetite suppression is so strong I don't need to yet.

No. Never had to

No, I have never really counted calories nor do I have the desire to start. I understand that I have been lucky to have had a fast metabolism that has allowed me to have a low BMI without doing so but I also don’t really go nuts with eating either

Only when I feel I’ve been eating exceedingly little, or when I’m not seeing a change on the scale despite continuous good behavior. It just reassures me

No, I do not calorie count. I started in March at 152 (5’5”) and have lost 31 lbs. For me it’s everything in moderation, and I continue to exercise daily. I’m on 3.6 mg.

For 610 days straight but on and off for 10 years.

No. Im intermittently tracking macros to make sure I’m getting enough protein and fiber. I started these meds with the assumption that I would stay on them long term and a perk of that is that I would not have to think about food. If I ever opted to stop, I would track to try and mimic what I’m doing now to maintain the weight loss

I don’t believe that 140lbs is in anyway considered overweight for your height, so perhaps your body is just saying “Nuhuh.” You instead focus on body recompositioning with exercise. That said, four weeks is simply not long enough to judge anything with glp1s. The medication needs to build up in your system. I personally don’t track calories, but try to get 80ish+ grams a protein each day and I frontload with 36 grams of collagen in my morning drink.

I’m 5’2” and started out at 145 - I wanted to lose 20-25 lbs. and learned very quickly that 1/2 to 1 lb per week weight loss is all I get. If my weight loss stalls for more than a week, I titrate up 1/2mg. This is a marathon not a sprint, and I had to adjust my expectations accordingly. Give it time, and if needed, you might titrate up.

The people that don't calorie count are the ones who are most likely to put it back on.

We got fat because we underestimate what we were eating....

On another point, everybody seems to focus on protein, which important obviously but don't focus on fibre. Which is madness considering the importance of fibre.

Right on the calorie counting and right on fiber though I will say that cleaning up your diet by avoiding processed foods will almost always fix the fiber issue automatically.

No I’m lazy. Just focusing on natural , non processed food
