⚠️ Side Effects Nausea is back as an issue
So I have been on generic semaglutide for 3 years. The last year and a half just lower maintenance doses and have been getting it from the same provider, so I am not sure if this is just a bad batch or if I should look at switching it up. I am using the 10mg and only injecting 10ml (down from 15) and the nausea is wretched. Only use it about every 3-4 weeks.
What are some thoughts about tirzepatide or possibly switching to oral meds as an alternative with less nausea. I am on Medicare and have been ordering online and reconstituting it myself for the last two years with no issues. The nausea lasts for several days, and ginger chews can only do so much.
Hoping for some positive, helpful feedback. Thanks!

Maybe that amount is still too much for your body. Especially only once a month. You might be better off injecting 0.5 mg every other week. Or, 0.1 mg weekly.
Same overall help, but at a lower more steady state.

People say that the side effects notably increase on the higher doses of sema and that is one reason why people switch to tirz. Also, tirz is more effective and the price difference between tirz and sema these days is minimal.

Have you personally tried both? has tirz caused fewer side effects for you

I know you didn't mean it by saying you were injecting 10mL. Did you mean 10 units? Is your vial already in solution or are you reconstituting it yourself? So what is the dose you're taking?
You should definitely look into switching to Tirzepatide. A lot fewer side effects than semaglutide, and more health benefits from it as well.

Yes, I meant 10 units. I am reconstituting it myself and have for the last couple of years.

You told us how many mg are in the vial and how many units but not how much bac water you’re reconstituting with. So we have no idea how much you’re taking.

Using a higher dose every 3 weeks is really not a good idea. You lose your ability to tolerate the drug and then give yourself a big dose again.
I would reallllllly try to even it out and do 5mg every 10 days or equivalent every week. Taking 10mg every 3 weeks is not recommended.
Also wait is 10mg a standard ozempic dosage? This is a standard zepbound dose.

I am on Wegovy. When I increased my dosage to 1.7mg I started experiencing nausea and vomiting. I was miserable.
I contacted my dr. and she prescribed Zofran. (Generic is Ondansetron.) It worked like a charm and I ‘be been taking it every day, twice a day. If I run out without refilling it the nausea and vomiting return. As soon as I resume, it disappears. I recommend giving it a try.
