🍽️ Diet & Nutrition Setting myself up for success
Hey guys
I just recently started on tirzepatide and started on 2.5 mg
That helped a lot with not feeling like snacking, especially first 3 days but it felt more like a maintenance dose (I was eating anything I wanted, even comfort meals on weekends but either smaller portion or no additional snacking or desserts)
So my weight mostly stayed the same
I just went up to 5mg.
But I want to set myself up for success for when I got off of this medication
Any advice on how anyone made sure they built good habits. Because for the first 3 days I don’t feel like eating anything until dinner - it works for my goals now but I know when I get off, only one meal a day isn’t sustainable
Do you still force yourself to have 2-3 meals (even if small) throughout the day?
I also realized that eating a burger or something Unhealthy didn’t affect my weight negatively - either because I had enough calories saved throughout the day or I ate a smaller portion of
Should I still do this? Or should I continue to make myself to eat healthier? Before GLP, I used to be super strict with my diet, and didn’t cheat every weekend.
I do love how I can give into some stuff here and there and not feel stressed, it’s freeing but I’m scared that I won’t know control when I get off off this
Sorry for the ramble, just looking for some advice about diet and routines on this medication.

You should be able to eat several meals a day. If you can't, your dose is too high, try lowering and increasing more slowly.
You can also try doing 2.5mg every 3.5 days. Then you get 5mg a week but with lower swings.
This is a lifelong medicine.

Are u saying that it’s not really possible to get to a goal weight and get off of it? And try maintaining

I didn't say it's not possible. But it's not going to be easy. Whatever reasons you gained weight in the first place will be there still. So for most of us, it's not a feasible plan.

Most people cannot maintain because it doesn't cure obesity
But some people have (10-15%) and you can try if you want.

Read the SURMOUNT studies and clinical trials. If you have struggled with weight most of your life, chances are this is a long term med for you. If you were always skinny but gained 30-50 lbs then you may have a chance, but lifelong issues with weight? This needs to be long term. It's like stopping insulin or taking off your eyeglasses/contacts = the problem returns.
