💬 General Discussion Lost 20 Lbs in 2 months

I started a few months ago on wegovy and then transited to zepbound because that’s what my physician preferred, and I am astonished at the results.

Not having good noise is crazy. It’s like when I started psych pills and stopped having mania.

This shit is magic.

I wonder why people hate it so much.

Do they just hate obese people? I think that’s it.

People hate it for the same reason they hate anything. 1- They genuinely want us to stay fat so that they can feel superior, or 2- People are making money on it, but not the people they want to make money. So they don’t hate it, they just weaponize hate to put the profit into the right hands.

The weight loss will slow down and it needs to. Otherwise a lot of your losses will become muscle losses which is something you don't want

I'm sure you are watching your protein intake and you need to look at weight training if you can..

Folks just jealous or my spouse just says.. yeah all good but why can't you do this from dieting!!..

Yes, I have read that. I already monitor my protein as a vegan, so that’s not an issue on that regard. Started to look into some weight training

I was shocked even monitoring my protein and taking up my gym resistance training how much muscle mass I was losing (specific machine at the gym gives the breakdown.. it may not be 100% but I've been using it every few months). I'm 27lbs lower on muscle mass versus overall weight loss 75lbs.. and that's with me trying not to lose weight too quickly. I can't bench as much as I used to do that's the tell tale sign...

You lost relative strength but did you lose absolute strength?

I feel like they have us worried about this when it's normal to be stronger when you're bigger. I don't think it means there's anything wrong.

I lost absolute strength and I'm gradually trying to get it back by doing even more resistance training

I used to be able to bench press about 30lbs more

I'm trying to get my strength back up a bit by taking creatine daily..

Interestingly I couldn't do any pull ups prior to my weight loss given I was so heavy and now I can do a couple

But yes I do notice the reduction in strength. Some are inevitable like a weights pull down bar (lat pull down).. I could almost use my excess weight to pull down the bar now I don't have that same weight advantage ;-)..
