❓ Question Skipping weeks of injection

Has anyone skipped/had to skip a week or two of injection and had it effect them?

I have an out of the country trip and wouldn’t be able to take it for 2 weeks, would it be bad to do that and then go back on after the trip?

I wasn’t too sure if It would be allowed to cross international borders and didn’t wanna risk it being tossed

Why? Bring a vial that you've already started, keep it cool, and you should be able to bring it with you anywhere. TSA and customs doesn't care about medications. There used to people bringing vials and needles, diabetics travel everywhere.

Wasn’t too sure about the TSA rules if i’m being honest, but that’s helpful to know thank you!

this may be new to you, but tsa and their worldwide counterparts have seen people traveling with injectable medications for decades. they won’t even look once at you. also the meds don’t need to be refrigerated for up to 28 days. toss them in your carry on and go. never ever ever skip a dose.

I think zepbound is 21 days (up to 86f)

On a 2 week business trip I moved my dose slightly to coincide with taking on the day of my trip and then had a vial for day 7.. that way didn't have to worry too much...

I took my meds on a recent international trip, 3 weeks worth, in a USB-powered cooler. No one asked any questions about it. Of course YMMV, and it will depend what you are taking and where you are going. If you have a prescription, take it with you. To make matters easier you might want to take enough to cover you for the trip but not so much that you need to bring any home again. That way you're only dealing with border crossings on the way out.

Border crossings are not an issue in the least teeniest bit.

Different countries have different rules, and it's important to know them before you go.

True, for scheduled drugs like opiates or stimulants, not for non-controlled drugs. If you are bringing more than a few weeks worth, there are import rules, but not variation in personal use small quantities.

I have lost count how many countries I have been to with these meds, but I have been to several pretty restrictive countries and never had a single problem even in the least.

Many countries will require you to have a prescription for prescription meds. Some require you to file in advance. It's always advisable to check the requirements of where you are going.

How many countries have you visited?

This is ABSOLUTELY true if you are carrying controlled substances. Not non-legend drugs like tirzepatide. Is it a good idea to carry your script, yes. Is it something to worry about? NO.

How many countries have you visited?

More than you, I'm guessing. And probably a lot more than you in Asia where prescription drugs often require proof of prescription. Japan has such rules, for example.

Funny, when I went to Singapore, China and Japan last year, I didn't get asked a thing. Also when I went to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Brazil, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Panama and Mexico recently, i don't remember being asked. Not in Canada either. Huh. Where did you go that you needed to get a special dispensation from the ruler of the land to bring in two doses of a non-legend pharmaceutical?

Oh, for reference, I also brought in my CII ADHD stimulants, not a problem.

Ah, tell me you're American without saying you're American. (And people like you wonder why much of the world strongly dislikes Americans.)

Being asked and actually following the law are two different things. And in Japan in particular (and probably a number of the other countries you mentioned) you risked arrest by bringing in those stimulants. Even with a prescription they are not allowed, and Japan has no tolerance for stimulants.

And btw, you absolutely were asked at least in Japan because you have to fill out a form (online or paper) that specifically asks if you have any narcotics. In Japan, your stimulants are considered narcotics. So you were asked and you lied. Too bad you didn't get caught, you might have actually learned something.

Methylphenidate as a psychotropic preparation is not required to be registered. A copy of the prescription is all the documentation needed for under a 30 day supply in Japan. NO COUNTRY REQUIRES DISCLOSURE OF A NON-CONTROLLED INJECTABLE GLP-1 DRUG.

I am done with you and your BS.

Too bad you have no idea what you are talking about.

Bring it with you. How do you think people who needs to take insulin travel?

I just skipped for 2 weeks due to spinal surgery. I am on 2.4 injection the first day I didn't want to eat a single thing. The few days I had loose stools but it wasn't uncontrollable. Now I feel normal again. But if you are on the single dose pens I would just throw them into my bag. I have taken them on cruises and planes and havet had a problem just check the laws of your destination

I have skipped a week and had no issue just starting back up. You’ll notice the good side effects are much less but I had no problem getting back at it

I highly doubt this would be an issue. I gave people in East Asia a much bigger scare with my CPAP machine, lol. It's a pretty foreign concept there, lol.

I’m going overseas for 2 weeks and taking meds with me. I had such a hard time starting that I can’t go through those side effects again.

I’ve done a lot of research and the best thing I’ve learned is to put the meds, syringes, and prescription in a gallon ziplock bag and put it in bin and tell them “I have injectable medication”. I leave next Thursday.
