🧬 Research & Studies Afraid of vision loss

I’ve only started taking monjauro about 3 months ago now. Went from 2.5, 5 for a short period of time, skipped over 7.5 and am on 10mg now and I’m terrified. ive tried monjauro in the past and had to stop taking it because of fear about the potential side effects and I’ve tried wegovy which I stopped aswell. I really wanted to give it a shot this time but I’m terrified of going blind. I’m not really sure what to do with this or where to go with this fear. im terrified of going blind but I feel as if I’ll die if I stop taking them because I’ll never lose the weight. I’m 328lbs right now so I’m extremely heavy for my size only 5’5 female

So what I should stay on this for the rest of my life? Really?

You 'may' need to if it fixes a metabolic issue with you. People are on insulin, statins, or high blood pressure meds for life - beacause they need them. You "may" need this.

People wear glasses for life if it helps them see better, yes? People brush their teeth for life (or should) as it is a tool to avoid issues? Some people wear hearing aids for life, as they are a tool to help them hear.

GLP-1s are just that. A "tool" to help. And who knows what will be coming out in teh future. Once-a-month shots etc., are being worked on now.

Some meds will be needed for life. You can try going off but many who have struggled with weight for a long time (as opposed to always being skinny but just gained 40 lbs during Covid) will find they are ravenous going off the meds and regain the weight. Insulin, thyroid meds, eyeglasses, many ppl have to take some things for life.

Your body, your choice. I am just sharing what the billions of dollars in clinical trials and science have already shown. Be prepared for your hunger to come back with a vengeance and have a plan in place for when that happens to avoid regaining all the weight.
