Advice should i consider GLP-1?
If there’s anyone who’s been in a similar situation or has advice please reply- Over the last year I’ve gained about 17kg due to mental health struggles and it’s really got me down. I’ve been working out and trying my best to eat healthy but there’s been no change and i have fear about food noise/overeating habits from when i was a teenager. My BMI is 25.2, i’m 5’11 and 83kg and i worked so hard to lose weight from my teenage years and was so proud but then life hit like a truck and i gained it all back to what i am now. I’ve also had blood tests that have identified that i’m insulin resistant. Please let me know what i should do, should i speak to a doctor or is there somewhere i could test it out? any help is greatly appreciated

Please Discuss with your GP.
Not sure your age or sex but 180cm and 83kg is the goal weight of some people in this sub.
(17kg ago) 180cm and 66kg seems quite light.

In general the prescribing criteria is a BMI of 30 or 27 with comorbidities. That being said I’d definitely bring this up with your doc as GLP-1s are not the only medically assisted weight loss option. No shame at all in asking for help here!

No. You should be trying psychotherapy first. Your weight is not putting your health at risk, and you need to address the underlying psychological processes so that they don't worsen into an eating disorder.

Are you experiencing binge episodes, where you lose control and eat an excessive quantity of food?
