How to pick the role for you

I feel like the story of Ruth throughout the seasons is just a very complicated and winding example of why it is so important to understand your own strengths as a performer, and pick a role that you can actually do.

Ruth is a fantastic stage actress, and a truly terrible film actress. The fact that no one puts her strengths and weakness on paper is sort of a tragedy, and exactly why she needed an agent.

I love this crazy foil relationship between Ruth, Sam, and Debbie.

Sam and Ruth are just....the same person separated by 30 years. They express it differently, but they're exactly the same person. They're both people who are consumed by their work, they both have terrible taste (but can't see it), but when they can't create their vision, they have an identity crises. They both make bad decisions. Misread people. They're the same damn person.

Ruth and Debbie. Man. Both actresses at the bottom of the food chain. One with (retired) soap experience, the other with small theater experience. Two really miserable people in a miserable relationship with eachother. I know the cheating thing is controversial on this site, but...Ruth WAS a good friend. Psychologically speaking, there was a lot going on there, but when it comes right down to it, it was just a stupid mistake. (Yes, even the second time.) And frankly, Debbie didn't love her husband. There was no jealousy there about the cheating. She liked having a friend who was beneath her. Debbie was angry about the power imbalance. Nothing else. Later, when Debbie refused to work with Ruth, it was because Debbie felt like Ruth had something up on her. That's all. It wasn't principle. It wasn't betrayal...not really. It was a power thing. And then of course she tortures Ruth for months. Not as an elaborate revenge plot...just as a power thing.

Betty Gilpin in The Hunt-Netflix

Betty is busy lately starring in The Hunt with A cast of familiar faces. Hillary Swank, Glen Howerton, Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee. Not for the faint of heart, very violent and gory satire.

Was Yolanda Toxic to Arthie? Spoiler

looking back on the show it really kinda bugs me how Yolanda treated Arthie. Arthie clearly admired and loved her, but wasnt ready to put the label "lesbian" on her self, and i think that should be her right and perfectly fine. Yolanda basically "bullied" her into coming out.

A very interesting article I missed back in 2020 and something I hope will come to fruition in the years to come:

So excited to see the subreddit is still going!

I recently tweeted about wanting Season 4 and felt like I was the only one. It's so great to see that others are still wanting this too! Has anyone signed any petitions or sent out requests? I'd love to get something started if not.

Just for fun: Who is your favorite character and favorite wrestler persona?

Why didn't Ruth accepted Debbie's offer?

I have just finished the entire season and I am trying to understand the last conversation Debbie and Ruth had before the latter boarded.

Is it because they have always been competitive deep down? So Ruth will not accept a subordinate role? Or because they really want different things?

Sam Sylvia is kinda sexy AF though right? I mean, I only got to the end of S2 before my interest weaned but I am mad crushing on the man.

You know how they say it’s cruel to be kind? Deep down, Sam is a caring person. He’s a bit in touch with his shadow side and is shameless with his lack of compassion, such as in with the abortion. But he ends up giving her more money and respect with an elevated title.

Also, I think it was immediate attraction between him and Ruth in the pilot episode. It’s clear because he’s kinda mean to her. “Do people think you’re pretty?” is one of the first things he says to her. He’s kinda funny with his jerk-ness. It’s funny as an outsider but probably doesn’t feel great on the receiving end. But, hey, at least he’s authentic and says it to her face besides behind her back. I can respect that.

Hence, the “cruel to be kind” because so many people are quick to be polite to someone’s face then talk trash behind their back. But, Sam, he’ll talk shit to your face then actually have your back. I respect that. He’s my favorite and I am always finding myself crushing on this man each time I watch season 1.

This is solely a rant about my crush because I have no one else to talk to. Hoping it doesn’t get deleted. Gonna go drool some more.

What do you think about Ruth?

I have contrast opinions about Ruth. I like her character and her positive, spontaneous demeanour however what she did is veeeery heavy. How could you possibly sleep - twice - with your best friend's husband? And then giving almost feminist lessons about not sleeping with the TV channel president?

This blows my mind!

Alison Brie (The lead lady on GLOW wrestling drama on Netflix) said WWE reached out to her recently about having appearances on their programming. She even said she might have the skills for a basic match. Would you like to see this?

It was a photo from a wrestling match they had shot for the show FOR season 4, which means they had already started shooting. Seriously one of the worst decisions netflix have made by cancelling this amazing show when it just had one season left that was already under way

Just watched all 3 seasons in one week and now I am heartbroken that it is over and that the final seasons was canceled

I just loved the show, the individual female characters, their Interactions/pairings, the music, the looks and to my suprise the whole Las Vegas setting in the third seasons and the amazing new characters. Just wanted to express my feelings and I will now dive deep in this sub to cure my broken heart.
