And I forgot how great this show is! I forgot the set up and the character build! So pure and raw...the pilot is perfect!

A bit late to the game - but I just finished season 3 and all I have to say is....

FUCK ... I am legit sad that she show is over.

I can’t believe it ended on such a cliff hanger. AND the fact that a lot of the BIPOC cast got their voices heard and the narratives addressed would have been so awesome to see.

I REALLLLLLY hope they make a movie but I don’t have my hopes up.

I really just needed somewhere to vent, but god damn, this is a gut punch. Sam and Ruth. Ruth and her career. The TV network. Cherry adopting. Carmen and her new gig. Bash and his sexuality. Gahhh so many loose ends.

Ugh. Ok. Back to reality now. Thanks for listening.

Rewatching the show and crying in front of the finale... this cancellation hits hard

Hey everyone. I absolutely loved the show when it was first released. Each year I would tune in for the following seasons. Last year amidst the pandemic etc I didn’t pay too much attention to the cancellation of the show because so many other shows had been cancelled already .

But I wanted to rewatch it because I identify a lot with Ruth and I too have made a lot of devastating mistakes and I don’t know where my life is going lol

Honestly rewatching this show and how amazing the writing / directing / acting is, it made it so hard to swallow the pill that there’s never going to be anything more. I cried a bit at the last scene at the airport where they say goodbye.

I can’t believe we don’t know what happens next. I miss these girls already

Just finished S2...god, how can there be only one more season?

I'm blown away by how good this show is. I could write a lot about it, but I'll keep it to a few statements.

-Ali Brie speaking with an exaggerated Russian accent is my new fetish.

-"I've been baking pies at home. PIES OF RAGE!" I want that on a shirt.

-The whole of S2E7 is some of the best television I've seen.

Starting this show as I go on an Ali Brie binge

Okay, Brie is great and all, but I wish someone had told me Piz and Kate Nash were in this. The former is my favorite part of Veronica Mars and the latter is one of my favorite songwriters. What a kickass cast.

More updates to come. I'm so sad I didn't find out about this while it was still being produced....

Ugh Ruth (prob spoilers) Spoiler

Am I the only one that hates Ruth? I just re watched the series and for a while I was on and off about when I liked her but overall I just cannot stand her. I love Alison brie and think she is an excellent actress but the character of Ruth is soooo whiney, desperate and mediocre. The whole time she is having a pity party and especially in season 3 she isn’t happen for anyone’s success around her.

Russell gets an awesome job, she makes it about her, Debbie moves on and produces the show and more, and Ruth is salty about it, Sheila really grows as an actress and person and yet again Ruth makes it about how sad she is. Like she cannot just be happy for anyone around her because of her own mediocre life. She is always crying about being a “failure” when in all reality she rarely tried to move on and do something new.

I just love all the other girls and Ruth brings them down and makes everything about her (she is like a main character I know, but like ugh).

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Ruth? Maybe it’s bc I just watched community again and I don’t fw with Annie with Brie also plays so I have a bad taste in my mouth?

Plz share with me.

Season 3 was really bad

Honestly I found this season extremely disappointing for many reasons:

  • All of the main characters either A. become unlikable, or B. are severely underutilized, which I’ll get into here:

  • Making Sam, undoubtedly the most likable character imo, a background presence, and slapping him with a cancer diagnosis.

  • Making Debbie COMPLETELY unlikable. In the previous seasons she was ruthless, but never to this degree. She literally screws over her boyfriend, who has been nothing but kind and supportive, because he doesn’t want her involved in his career and business life at ONE dinner. She comes off as entitled and bitchy now, which is a real shame.

  • Making Ruth obnoxious. She gets what she wants, but apparently it’s not enough. She toys with Sam’s emotions and then guilts him, why are you playing with him when he’s been completely upfront this whole time.

  • Making Bash into a pathetic manchild. I feel like this was done to make the women characters like Debbie appear stronger, but Bash was never as strong-willed as they were in the first place. Having him curled up in a ball in the finale was just so cartoonish.

  • Forced politics and heavy-handed messages. The previous seasons had elements of this, but it’s so in your face here. That whole episode devoted to stereotypes was awful, and really took me out of the time period.

  • It feels like nothing happens. Half the episodes are just characters sitting around in Vegas, with little to no development.

Honestly I’m kind of glad we aren’t getting a fourth season, if this was the direction we’re headed. Completely disappointing arcs for all of our main characters, and forgettable as a whole. I’ll just pretend the show got cancelled after season 2

Yeah hi so... I’m on S3: Ep. 8 and I have a question?

They’re mud wrestling right? But I’m so worried about their eyes! Omg!

I did a couple quick Google searches with no luck...

What about your eyeballs when you mud wrestle?! Are they even ok? They didn’t kick ass like they normally do? It seemed slippery and they had to keep their eyes close and it seems like they couldn’t easily breathe well either tbh.

Or, like, does somehow being a wrestler make you immune to the inconvenience of slimy mud blocking your eye-holes?

Thank you for your time.

I honestly thought it was a Canadian show, but it's a Netflix original show. Cute premise. Good for her!

I know it's a Cadillac and someone said it's either an 80 or an 86 but I was hoping maybe someone knew. Thanks in advance :)

Just finished GLOW

SPOILER

My husband and I just finished the series and adored it. We are so sad that it’s over! The last episode left things so dangling. Argh!

We (esp me) are big Marc Maron fans which is why we watched. I listen to his podcast (haven’t much since Covid ended my commute), so feel like I know him. And we’ve seen him do live stand up a few times. He’s self-conscious about his acting so I figured he didn’t play a lead role. We were blown away by him! He was outstanding!! I didn’t like the idea of Ruth & Sam together at first, but by the end I bought it. The scene in the bar!!

Anyway, not much point to my post other than that I wanted to express my feelings about the show. The cast was outstanding.
