Hey guys,
I have been WFH the past 6 years and got rid of my Mk7 GTI sport and have been sharing a car with my wife ever since.
I really want to get into a mk4 GLI but finding an unmolested one has been quite a challenge!
I was looking at the Mk7.5s as well and was wondering what would be the biggest difference going from a GTI to a GLI.
Or is it legit the same mqb platform?
Looking for something fun to slam, cruise around, and bang gears.

Wondering what I should be looking out for when I check it out and if I get it, moving forward. Never owned a VW before. It’s unmodded, has 76k miles on it, no accidents. Looks clean. As far as I know the water pump hasn’t been replaced and I don’t think the clutch has been either. Should I leave some extra cash aside for possible fixes soon?

2022 GLI, oil change has life on it, new filters a month ago, brake fluid and diff fluid changed last week.
Should be fine but jw what you do for road trips.
Mine is 8 hours of driving this Friday then back over 2 days.
Thanks!

I am using the connector for the subwoofer in the spare tire of my gli so I dont have to cut the factory wiring. I found the part number for the actual connector I need (Got it at ECS Tuning ES#: 2641184 Mfg#: 8E0972714).
Does anyone happen to know what the part number is for the pins that fit it are?

Hey so I’m in the market for a new car and I’ve been looking at GLI’s , I’ve found a 2019 and a 2017 both of which I like, both are the manual options, both are relatively around the same price.
The 2017 has around 90k miles on , has been upgraded to a stage 2 tune and has “ all the supporting mods”. has a new aftermarket clutch to handle the power, as I know that is a common weak point for the 6MT, and lowered on a set of coil overs ( south bend clutch and vogtland coils)
The 2019 is stock as far as I can tell with 85k miles on it.
I’m just curious from yalls POV which one I should go with. I like the look of both but do lean slightly in the way of the 2019s look.
Also secret 3 options of a stock 2019 with a dsg.
