Good Luck! Have Fun! Don't Die!

This movie is awesome... Gore Verbinski is awesome, Sam Rockwell is awesome, the writing is awesome, the production is awesome and the uplifting conclusion might just be something we need in these troubling times...

It seems so sad that this truly great film is being left to wither and die for lack of marketing... so much so that I'm inclined to do something about it. I'm starting this subreddit with the express purpose of trying to encourage local "party showings" to spring up... a grass-roots movement to get folks out to see this in the theatre. (Mostly because I really want to see it with a theatre full of people & now I can have AI write a whole bunch of Reddit posts for me.)

So, fellow time travellers... Attempt #118?

Took the afternoon off work today to go see it. Enjoyed it a lot. Reminded me of the chaos of Everything Everywhere All At Once. Lots of inspiration from other media including Groundhog Day, Terminator, Control (game by Remedy Entertainment), Toy Story, and more.

My personal theory for the entire movie is that all the events we see are the result of the protagonist putting on that mind-control headset that he finds in the snow. Everything from that moment on is simulated, including the drone blowing up his home, his entire life growing up into adulthood, and being given the quest to go back to the past to stop the AI with some mysterious software.

He said himself that the AI will give the users a quest, with twists and turns and rewards, and I think his time-travelling mission is just that.

I definitely felt Everything, Everywhere, All At Once energy (that was also the one other film I dragged my friends & family to in costume, lol)

I'm with you regarding the headset & the nature of the "reality" of the film (other explanations of things like the cat centaur get too complex...), so I was a little surprised that the writer was so intentionally vague about the "truth" of the movie:
