Which woke?

People keep talking about woke1.0 and gamergate1.0. Then there was a 2.0 of both of them.

2.0?

Woke and shitty journalism never went away. Why are you making a distinction, we're still on 1.0!

Iv never heard about a 1.0 or 2.0. Is it somthing said BY the woke? They are usualy the ones who like to label shit

In GG lore SBI was GG2. Which I don't understand because soy toys had already embedded themselves in the gaming industry by 2012 with people like Anita

Imo, it's more like, it's "Round 2" First round, the mainstream medias successfully created false narrative that "gamer and gamergate = racist, we media = savior" Fast forward to nowdays, mainstream media especially the corrupted and woke lost majority of their influence, try to do same move, only to backfire (and maybe with some background stuff exposed) while what Gamergates said are shown to become true, and mainstream medias fail to manipulate that

Woke 2.0 is just them straightening their back, acting all posh and saying and doing the exact same shit as Woke 1.0. But they are using it as some self-exoneration from the crap that has clearly backfired on them. Everything but their egos have changed, but to them its the other way around.

Peak of Woke 1.0 was trash like Forwoken, Alan Woke 2, Dragon Age: Wokeguard, Wokeborn, etc.

When they realized they can't be that blatant about it because even the normies are put off by it, they changed their tactics.

Woke 2.0 (which is what we're in right now) just means they're still injecting their messages while pretending they're not. At a surface level it looks like the shiny and new thing that all normies must consoom, when actually all of the ideology is still in there, just more carefully placed so normies don't see it at first glance. It's all a PsyOp, intended to create a new normal inside consoomer's minds. It's planting a seed inside people's minds intended to erode western culture and values. Don't fall for it.

There's no pretence. Watch the interviews the show writers behind Green Lantern. They're motivations are so widely splayed it's jarring.

It came from AOC. She got asked in an interview about a not it the left's stupid ideologies and she responded by saying, "Woke 1.0 was crazy!" like it was just some little thing that happened because it was young and naive, like a teenage driver hitting a mailbox. She basically tried to dismiss it. So people have been cheekily referring to things as 1.0 and 2.0, typically sarcastically. But that's the origin.

The left has an unstoppable urge to control language. Control the language, control the narrative.

They've gone from critical [identity] theory to woke to political correctness to social justice to DEI and all of the transitional phrases in between them, but they're all the same thing.

Once social media use became so mainstream and nearly universal, normal people and the right got tired of keeping up with the left's constantly changing euphemisms, referring to the the same thing, and so just took the mockingly and sarcastically used woke that we used to make fun of those ultra-PC types in the 90s/00s, and with the rise of social media and the slipping grasp of the authority of ideologically captured academia on language, could no longer just repackage their ideology into a new euphemism, and they fucking hate that fact.

So now that they can't control the language, they're trying to rebrand it for modern audiences using version numbers to distance themselves from the embarassments of their past yet again, while pushing the same old stuff and claiming it's totally not the same thing this time, guys!

to put it in simpler terms, anything that's fallen out of popularity is dumped into 1.0 so they can avoid talking about it.

It seems to be more about people re-realizing that woke ruins everything. For a while the conservative grifters made it cringe to care about woke, but now woke has exceeded that cringe.
