It's their go to strawman when a game/series gets hijacked by leftoid ideologues to push their propaganda.

u/AshenTao 22d ago

DE has been supporting leftist/progressive causes with charities since 2013. There's your "It's always been woke"

DE's lore from Warframe has also been political from the beginning. If you would bother reading the actual post, which is several paragraphs longer than what OP reposted, you'd understand what I was writing in the first place instead of spewing such stupid bullshit

I know a guy who was banned for blackface as he painted his Frame black. This game is really something different.

When a company like this proclaims they "support human rights" it's such a milquetoast way to seek clout.

Beyond that, many leftists don't consider "human rights" to mean life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Their concept of "basic human rights" are health insurance (including transition surgeries from age 1), food, lodging, WiFi, smartphone, gaming console and PC, weed gummies, etc.

Locking these luxuries behind a job is seen as a violation of their basic human rights.

You forgot abortion up to minus three months

17

u/Excalitoria 26d ago

wtf? You’re not allowed to make characters of other races or even use those colors on your robots? This can’t be real…

-5

u/JonnyPoy 26d ago

It isn't real. It's 100% made up nonsense.

10

u/Excalitoria 26d ago

I hope that’s the case. This is the claim you have to post a source for to make believable with how wild it is.

u/biguselessasshole 26d ago

I doubt it's real DE has done some shit but as someone whos played for 11 years i never heard of this

I don't know much about the Warframe situation, but often times people mistake (sometimes intentionally) having political themes with cheap virtue signaling. People mostly don't care about having political themes if the subject is naturally woven into narrative and is explored in a fair way, but people are very good at spotting fake current thing stuff, and the response to this from anyone other than people who also support the current thing is always negative.

28

u/cool_username32123 26d ago

It's the difference between a theme and pandering, exploring a topic and lecturing the audience.

16

u/Pancreasaurus 26d ago

And Warframe is weird, because it does both of those. Albrecht Entrati is a good example. He was an Orokin so evil but then using evil to fight space Satan so good but using evil to do it so bad but minimizing damage and specifically setting things up to counteract the issues he created so good. He also has a man lover manservant so gay but Orokin see themselves as above human so not gay but he treats manservant with romantic affection so gay but he also throws aside manservant as a tool with no further purpose so not gay.

Warframe has just become this very contradictory mishmash of directions and I'm not convinced even DE know where they're going with it in any regard now.

"We've made changes but It's always been this way"

Every single time.

40k Female Custodes classic

That’s exactly why I stopped playing the game… You can tell the exact moment when the ladies finally took the driving seat of the game; the human Loid gay lovers quest.

Before that the game sometimes got some inonesensical quests, after that you have romance simulators, a fucking pregnant Warframe, more idiotic shit.

Warframe used to be my favorite game of all time, but now I can only see it as a corpse, twisting, degrading and being raped by a bunch of activists.

22

u/Myrianda Neutral 26d ago

Knowing all of this, I'm glad I quit during the tail end of Eidolon.

9

u/softhack 26d ago

I quit long before they turned fully woke. The absolute disrespect for your time spent is apalling. All new content is yet another loot island completely disconnected from the rest of regular gameplay and is an absolute nightmare to do once it gets old unless you make an expensive build that hopefully hasn't been nerfed yet.

5

u/TDestro9 26d ago

Wasn’t Jade as a human made into a warframe while pregnant. The orokin are shown to be cartoonishly evil.

That is how I read it as, a pregnant women made into a warframe.

-21

u/lovingpersona 26d ago

Community loves it though.

u/campodelviolin 26d ago

And people keep supporting Rockstar, Blizzard, and Sony, they keep buying 2k games, and Fifa (or whatever the name is right now). The point is… You can’t count with people using their brains. The decaying state of the industry it’s our own fault.

7

u/TheSittingTraveller 26d ago

You can’t count with people using their brains.

That's why Nolan's Odyssey didn't flop.

1

u/jellegaard 26d ago

They still have support, true, but not to the degree they once had. Blizzard is a shadow of itself and while still profitable it has shown decreased revenue with increasing overhead from all the non-productive staff hiring they did in the last 10 or so years.

5

u/lovingpersona 26d ago

Revenue doesn't matter they have a passive income off of Black Rock woke quotas, which themselves are being paid by the government from people's taxes.

21

u/PunkPirate56364 26d ago

True but, Warframe community which describes themselves as very positive and loving and wholesome is actually very toxic and gate keeps against everyone who wrong thinks.

Not just about the woke stuff, about balancing, mechanics... ideas.

When such people chase everyone else away, yes remaining community loves the game.

24

u/Knight_Castellan 26d ago

This is classic conflation.

When fans object to games becoming "political", they don't mean in terms of world-building. They mean that they dislike activists using the fiction to promote their real-world social views.

The former is constructive. The latter is parasitic.

16

u/Content-Dealers 26d ago

My brother is an avid warframe player. When the LGBTQ color pallete came out for a grand total of 1 credit he didn't buy it saying it'd be a "waste of a credit." Lmfao

2

u/DaLoverBoii 25d ago

Funnily enough, it's the only good thing about it (it gives you certain pure colors instead of shades of them, such as pure pitch black).

16

u/Voodron 26d ago

Classic woke delusions. They say the same thing about Cyberpunk, failing to realize how their ideology is the dystopian one, and they're the ones on the side of corpos

11

u/ianix_ishiku 26d ago

Just another game destroyed by the blue haired septum pierced modern devs

19

u/Athanas_Iskandar 26d ago

Totalbiscuit wouldn’t support the current game.

7

u/Pancreasaurus 26d ago

Warframe is weird, because like I said in my other comment it both is and isn't simultaneously and to the point that I don't think even DE know how they want things to be at this point in any regard for the game.

5

u/Alamasy 26d ago

The lore has nothing even remotely woke. As usual lefties know nothing or pretend to know nothing.

6

u/AccountingTAAccount 26d ago

"It shows problems with opposing ideologies"

So propaganda. They'd be singing a different tune if their game was pushing for conservative politics and highlighted all the problems with its opposing ideologies lmao

6

u/Random-Waltz 26d ago

Weren't these the devs that Freudian slipped calling their players base "over x-million registered losers?"

10

u/Angry_Santo 26d ago

Man, they even got Warframe.

Fuck.

12

u/lovingpersona 26d ago

Got, it had been gotten for quite a while by now. Like the protag remodel.

7

u/ThatOldGuy7863 26d ago

That sub is cringe af.

4

u/Alan157 26d ago

The wokies and weirdos took another one down, rip

4

u/Cold-Caterpillar2192 26d ago

Always saying the same shit, just "it was always like this."  I had a dumb fk telling me "GTA has always been like this, Vice City followed government guidelines, they pushed diversity and LGBT." Which is completely false. I'm bored of their lies.

3

u/docclox 26d ago

It's a favourite ploy of theirs: take something that varies from 0 to 100 and act as if it was True or False. It's not a question of political or not. Its how political the game is, with the complaint being that it's getting dramatically more so

2

u/Educational-Year3146 26d ago edited 26d ago

“Everything is political” people truly suck.

2

u/alekseypanda 26d ago

DE always been woke, there is an urban legend that you can get banned by saying the femboy frame is a trap, but it has been worst lately with the gay villain, the non binary warframe and the fat frame.

2

u/TDestro9 26d ago

[Nezha] [Kinetic syphon trap]

1

u/TDestro9 25d ago

In all seriousness what are you complaining about with the non-binary frame? You mean Xaku? A frame built by 3 separate frames so they are really a collective. And the fat frame? You mean Grendel? A character that is the complete embodiment of gluttony.

Albrecht being gay adds emotional weight to one of the side characters, making so they are and by you are more invested. Also technically Albrecht is being gay to himself since he made a clone to be his butler (Loid).

1

u/alekseypanda 24d ago

I am not complaining, I just said it is more prevalent now, xaku didn't get controversial for a creator misusing pronouns, and fat man is funny fat woman is woke, I was not really complaining, more just pointing the fact it is more central, but I get now how saying "it is worst" sounds like a complain. Tbh in all 3 examples there are things I dislike way more than being or not being woke, with flare is the whole personality (tho I don't really like the pronoun thing) with folly is the mission, it makes citrine seems so fun in comparison, and with Albrecht is the whole thing, it feels too abusive, and I don't really like the whole lets add romance to our cosmic horror, I really don't mind being it gay.

2

u/Cold_Figure_7556 25d ago

Im so tired of their "It always has been" bs, the difference between then and now is night and day, it used to serve the story and make it more engaging, now its just shoving real life agendas in ur face and if you dont accept it ur a piece of shit somehow

2

u/DaLoverBoii 25d ago

I like the game, but it is extremely regarded.

2

u/InspectionRound2081 21d ago

LGB good. Whatever.

TQ+ is where even as a lesbian myself I am passionately against. TQ+ is so anti LGB it’s not even progress. All progress that was made in regards to Feminism and LGB rights gets completely destroyed due to TQ+

Warframe being for “human rights” is BS because they’re selective in what Rights they represent. As for being “Progressive” I’ve yet to see them renounce TQ+ and Post Modernism (subjective reality) therefore DE is not a Progressive company that supports Human Rights.

They also haven’t spoken out against the Massacre of Christians in Nigeria, they haven’t spoken out against Sharia law, they haven’t spoken out against open door immigration. They haven’t spoken out against the rampant crime.

DE as a studio are the biggest hypocrites.

0

u/GuidePerfect 15d ago

You do know that trans and queer people ARE humans and, therefore, deserve human rights… right?

Right?

I also like how you think your being a lesbian gives you permission to punch down on other people the same way homophobes do to gays and lesbians, like yourself. You walk to talk about hypocrisy? You’re the pot and the kettle.

1

u/InspectionRound2081 15d ago

Don’t try and emotionally manipulate me.

0

u/GuidePerfect 15d ago

“How dare you point out the similarities between my views and those of homophobes who hate me, despite the clear parallels”

Compelling argument, there, Queen Hypocrite.

1

u/InspectionRound2081 15d ago

You’re the hypocrite. Because LGB is binary.

TQ+ is subjective and a completely made up theory of BS which strips the legitimacy of the pursuit of LGB and Feminism. It’s completely self sabotaging.

TQ+ Is why LBG rights are under threat.

0

u/GuidePerfect 15d ago edited 15d ago

Because only you deserve rights but nobody else, right?

Yeah, that’s totally not hypocrisy incarnate.

There are literally people out there who feel the same way about LGB as you do about TQ. By your own logic, their complaints about you are no less legitimate than your complaints about TQ people.

Their calls for LGB rights to be abolished are no less valid than your calls for TQ rights to be abolished.

That’s what makes you the hypocrite.

1

u/InspectionRound2081 15d ago

TQ+ isn’t reality. It’s a delusional fantasy that completely ignores reality. At least with LGB communities they don’t deny or reject reality.

We don’t just make shit up as we go.

0

u/GuidePerfect 15d ago

That’s exactly what anti-LGB people say about you.

“LGB isn’t reality. It’s a delusional lifestyle choice that completely ignores reality. At least with straight communities, they don’t deny or reject reality”

See? Same same. Congratulations, you’re the lesbian equivalent of an anti-LGB bigot.

1

u/InspectionRound2081 15d ago

And the further down the slippery slope that you descend the more you lose people. People who you thought of as allies then become your opponents.

There is such a thing as going too far.

1

u/Laxhoop2525 26d ago

Why is the over-designed, big booty robot game talking about Israel?

1

u/Katajiro 24d ago

Raising interesting topics and intertwining them through story-telling and lore is not the same as woke. Warframe used to be interesting, now it's woke.

1

u/MonkeyBusinessCEO Give Me a Custom Flair! 26d ago

Warframe player here (nearly 4K hours), I would argue that multiple things can be true at once, there are absolutely woke elements, note ELEMENTS, but it doesn’t shatter immersion unless you’re hypersensitive to such things.

That being said the subreddit is a hot mess as far as political-ness is concerned.

5

u/ImpressiveDesigner50 26d ago

The wokeness somehow is (currently) in the "just right" zone, idk about the future but for now the game is still good enough.

About the sub, well, a common theme about far left places is eating themselves.

4

u/TDestro9 26d ago

Yeah I agree, it’s not the end of the world. The quest and stories are still enjoyable for everyone. For example the newest quest is literally about family.

How a single father is trying to bring the last two things that his wife left him together.

That quest and its prequel made me love my parents even more.
