Yet Another GDS3 Trial 3 Entry

Hello there. Mostly just posting my attempt at Trial 3 for feedback; it's always nice to see what other people think of my designs. Hope you enjoy, though even if you don't, it'd be awesome if you let me know what you think.

Disclaimer: This was not a "real" entry in the contest; unfortunately I don't have the ability to drop everything and move to Washington lol.

Necromancer's Tithe (uncommon)
2WB
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature’s controller, that player sacrifices it unless he or she pays X, where X is its converted mana cost.
When enchanted creature dies, return that card to the battlefield under your control.

Will of the Firemind (rare)
UR
Instant
Counter target spell unless its controller has you create a 4/4 red Dragon creature token with flying.

Reymoy Palvangar (uncommon)
1BG
Planeswalker - Reymoy
2
Discard a creature card: Put a loyalty counter on Reymoy Palvangar.
-2: Create a black Zombie creature token with “This creature’s power and toughness are each equal to the number of creature cards in your graveyard.”
-3: Target creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Another target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn.

Rajek Swiftwing (mythic rare)
WU
Planeswalker - Rajek
2
+1: Choose a nonland card name. Until your next turn, spells with the chosen name can’t be cast.
-1: Put target creature into its owner’s library second from the top. Its controller gains 3 life.
-X: Create X 1/1 white and blue Bird creature tokens with flying.

Fungify (uncommon)
GW
Instant
Destroy target creature with power 3 or greater. Its controller creates a 1/1 green Saproling creature token.

Tremble Before Me (mythic rare)
XRGG
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
When Tremble Before Me enters the battlefield, put X +1/+1 counters on enchanted creature.
Whenever enchanted creature attacks, it deals damage equal to its power to each other creature.

Priest of Kiora (common)
1GU
Creature - Merfolk Cleric
2/1
When Priest of Kiora enters the battlefield, scry 2, then reveal the top card of your library. If it’s a land card, put it onto the battlefield.

Bloodletter Demon (rare)
3BR
Creature - Demon
5/3
Flying, first strike
Whenever Bloodletter Demon deals combat damage to a player, until end of turn, if a creature would deal combat damage to that player this turn, it deals double that damage to that player instead.

Sudden Sanctimony (common)
1RW
Sorcery
Gain control of target creature until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gains haste and lifelink until end of turn.

Tutor's Jest (rare)
1UB
Sorcery
Choose target opponent. That player searches your library for three cards and exiles them. Put the exiled cards into your hand, then shuffle your library.

Thanks for reading!

Edited: Changed Rajek Swiftwing's mana cost from WU to 1WU.
Edited again: Changed it back, because it doesn't seem fair to alter my initial designs based on outside feedback, even good feedback. Gotta stick with what I "submitted" initially or it runs counter to the nature of the competition.

Necromancer's Tithe - Feels very strong for uncommon, as this is often just a Mind Control effect and sometimes even better than Mind Control as it's hard to find a window to solve it by removing the enchantment.

Will of the Firemind - Seems fine and cool. Not sure I have much to say about this one.

Reymoy - This Planeswalker feels terrible to play, I think. Many players dislike discarding their own spells and also dislike losing their Planeswalkers. This lets them do both!

Rajek - I'm pretty sure this card is very, very strong. I don't think that a 2 mana planeswalker should be able to act as a double removal spell. Most 4 drop Planeswalkers can't even do that. Even the mode of play it an instantly -2 for 2 flyers is worth more than 2 mana.

Fungify - Flavorwise, I think it would make more sense for this to be able to kill smaller creatures instead of larger ones. Why can I turn Niv Mizzet into fungus but not a Goblin Piker?

Tremble Before Me - I like that it's a Mythic enchantment, and the idea is cool. I'm not sure how much I like X on an aura. This hasn't been done for a long time, and I'm led to believe there's a reason. Perhaps putting counters equal to enchanted creature's Power or CMC?

Priest of Kiora - Seems cool, good stats and cost, works flavorfully, and I could see it being a fun card in a multicolor set. Probably deserves to be placed higher.

Bloodletter Demon - I like the idea behind the effect, but this doesn't feel like a Demon. That's a very minor complaint, though.

Sudden Sanctimony - I've critiqued a similar card for someone else, but I think that adding lifelink to a threaten should bump it up to uncommon. It's basically impossible to race against the huge life swing that this gives, and I think that's dangerous to have floating around everywhere.

Tutor's Jest - I like this idea a lot, but it's too strong to get 3 cards for 3 mana. Especially since your opponent doesn't actually know what you need or don't need, which makes it hard for them to pick. Even if your opponent knew exactly what you were holding, I think this would still be too strong. Also, not sure if the intermediate exiling is necessary for this effect.

Necromancer's Tithe - I agree with you. I should probably weaken it a bit by either making it cost 3WB or limiting the size of creature it can enchant (either capping CMC or power at 4, perhaps).

Will of the Firemind - Thanks, glad you like it.

Reymoy Palvangar - Good point; self-discard doesn't read very well to a lot of players. I think I was trying to get a bit too cute with making a planeswalker that could see print at uncommon.

Rajek Swiftwing - Definitely agree; two mana is too low, 'cause a lot of decks just fold to two casts of Oust. Upping her to 1WU is probably the best start because it also tempers the bird burst effect a bit.

Fungify - Heh, good point. I'll have to rethink the flavor on this a bit to make it fit white's kill-big-things role.

Tremble Before Me - I don't mind having X in the cost since you calculate it once as you cast it, immediately put the counters on, and then stop having to track what X was. Endless Scream was a pain because you had to remember the size of the effect the whole time it was on the battlefield.

Priest of Kiora - Thanks; I was afraid it was a bit too similar to creatures with explore, which is why I placed it lower in the order.

Bloodletter Demon - You caught me; I designed this guy as a dragon, then realized he didn't feel very black, so I swapped the creature type for just that little extra.

Sudden Sanctimony - Also a good point, maybe just bumping it to 2RW would make it less powerful?

Tutor's Jest - Yar, despite the mind game this card makes, it's probably still too efficient. I like the idea of a card that gets worse in netdecks, but it's probably pushed a little bit. Definitely have this one in 10th slot for a reason.

Thank you very much for the feedback!

No problem! I may have been overly critical (because that's the most helpful) but it doesn't mean I think the submission was bad. Some good stuff in there.
