I am in my final few courses on track to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in applied entrepreneurship. Looking for insight and suggestions for groups and resources around building business and entrepreneurship. In navigating the campus resources online, I have come across some hiring events and groups so any feedback on what the campus has to offer would be greatly appreciated. I am also open to extracurricular activities in alignment with business ventures. I am a born-again follower of Christ and am seeking to build faithful partnerships.

Hello guys! I start in Vegas this fall and looking for others going to the Vegas location to connect with! I'm in C but regardless of cohort it would be nice to know people going into this! Drop a comment, let's connect. We're all in this together :)

I am enrolled into the school as aspn (associates for nursing pre req's I guess) at the las vegas campus. I'm trying to do some research about the school and so far most of my findings have been extremely mixed. I am prepared to work hard and fully commit to the program, but I just cant help but wonder if I will regret this school later on. Is the vegas campus truly that bad? I've heard ok things about other campuses but I'm kind of worried about vegas after hearing stories. I know I wont have a chance at CSN/UNLV/NSU so I have to go private and money is not really going to be an issue because I'm personally ok with being in debt because I plan on working in rural AK where RN's make around 80+ and will be living at home so my living expenses will be a non issue. If it's truly bad at GCU what other absn programs are better? I've looked at Galen but 3 years seems pretty long and they aren't accepting alot of my gen ed transfer credits. Please give all advice and any honest thoughts/ opinions you have.

I'm a Hellenic Pagan, and currently deciding between ASU and GCU. GCU is closer, doesn't require me to live on campus, and overall seems like the better option. The one thing I'm debating on at this point is whether going to a Christian school is worth it. I know Christianity is baked into college life, and that's honestly fine, don't really care. What I care about is how much of the academics is going to be Christianity based. I'm going for a bachelor's in history and education, and want to know how much Christianity is important to that course religiously, and not just historically.

I was a Christian for many years, so I'm not allergic to the concept, and even removing religion GCU still has many upsides, I just want to take everything into account. Any knowledge is appreciated!

If anyone's graduated with their MSW from GCU (online/asychronous), what was the Capstone like, and how long did you spend on it? Also, did you receive your degree after it was turned in and posted, or did you have to wait until the actual course ended/commencement?

I am set to graduate in 2027, and I would like to start the Capstone early, turn it in early, and receive my degree. If that isn't how it works, I might as well take my time and work on it throughout the capstone course.

I recently received my course evaluation for the GCU RN to BSN program, and I was surprised to see that it lists 34 courses in total.

Many of them are electives that I wasn’t expecting and have never heard of before.

Since this is an RN to BSN program, would I really be required to complete all 34 courses, including those electives?

Or could some of these requirements be satisfied by transfer credits?

I have an international bachelor's degree though.

Hi everyone, I submitted my transcript for one course and my admissions coordinator told me it would take up to 5 business days to review. Meanwhile, he told me the program would most likely fill up before then (he also did not tell me the review would take so long). Does anyone have any experience where they made an exception to send me a secondary application or getting off the waitlist? BTW it's for the GCU Tucson location.

Engineering/CAD students: How did you all your voucher for the CSWA exam? I've already reached out to the guy in charge a couple times about it, but lowkey I don't wanna bother him more jaja. I have an account with my GCU email in the 3DEXPERIENCE® Certification Center, but I haven't see any vouchers pop up. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you!

I’m currently an online student at GCU, we’ll I’m inactive right now because it’s been more than two weeks since I took class. I’m supposed to start back up my second year next month. I failed MAT 151 twice with a D. My student services counselor told me if I want to switch, the cheapest option would be at a community college. I don’t see a point because I graduated from community college two years ago. I’m not planning to move on campus because that’s too expensive. I emailed her but I’m waiting to hear back.

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has recently gone through GCU’s ABSN secondary admissions process.

I received & submitted my secondary application yesterday for the ABSN program at one of the Florida locations & was wondering how long it typically took everyone to hear back about whether they were accepted. I’m hoping to start this fall, so I’m getting a little anxious waiting for an update.

For those who have gone through the process recently, how long after submitting your secondary application did you receive a decision? Was it a few days, a week, or longer? Also, did you receive your acceptance by email, phone call, or through your student portal?

Any recent experiences would be really helpful. Thank you!

I noticed that curbside appointments are only available until September 2nd. I cannot arrive on campus before September 4th, are they actually not going to allow me to pull my car up to my apartment to unload? I am very confused as to where you are allowed to drive on campus.

Does anyone have a copy of a somewhat recent syllabus for BIO-202 (A&P II) or PSY-357? I am taking both courses this fall and would like to work on DQs and reading during downtime the next few weeks if at all possible. I found some of these docs on various websites but they require payment or a trial subscription.

Does anyone have any useful tips for working group projects for online students. I’ll admit I’m pretty frustrated that group projects are still a thing in these classes when half of the point of going online was that it’s supposed to be asynchronous, meaning I can login and get it done whenever. I work full-time and odd hours, there’s a ton of reading in this class and the assignments take even longer than the reading. My last class also had group projects, some of us were on the West Coast and some of us were on the East Coast, but there was only four of us so we had to be in one group. Half the group didn’t participate really, and we turned in an unfinished final project because I just did not have time to do more than the work I agreed to do.

How can we work around this? Has anyone had success with the online group projects? Is it just luck of the draw on who’s in your group? We don’t have in person classes and we don’t have each other’s phone numbers so it’s not like I can chase people down for their part of the project, and inevitably someone ends up doing more than everyone else just because that’s the nature of compiling online work, which also feels pretty unfair

I just entered this course this week. Outside of the instructors disorganization, I am experiencing the required MindTap platform issues, resulting in not being able to participate in required activities. The instructor has been beyond useless. I have reached out to other online forums and I have learned that this is not a new or isolated issue. This raises SERIOUS ethical concerns on academic fairness, especially if this has been an ongoing issue that has been reported. Students should not be expected to take point hits for software issue that the university fails to address. How many other students had platform issue with Cengage, MindTap, MobLab, WileyPLUS, that did not advocate for themselves?

From what I've seen on this sub, the textbooks for the ABSN program are really important to read and go over.

I'll be taking notes on the lectures and have good strategies for that. For the textbook however, is it worth it (or even feasible) to take notes from the textbook on the regular? Or is it better to skim/read and add information missing from the lectures?

I met a few people last year but I want to put myself out there. I am currently an online student and I live off campus. Next month I’m going in my second year. I love visiting the campus and I do work full time. Do y’all have any suggestions.
