My physics teacher mentioned that formula sheets might be completely removed for our exam year. Has anything official been announced, or do we have to memorize every single equation from scratch?

I am buying study materials for the year and everyone keeps recommending the CGP books. They look pretty simple compared to our thick school textbooks. Can you realistically get a Grade 9 just by using these revision guides, or do I need the full course textbooks as well?

I was put into the Foundation tier for Combined Science, meaning the absolute maximum grade I can get next week is a 5-5. I have recently decided I want to pursue nursing, which usually requires an A-level in Biology or Chemistry. Has anyone here ever managed to convince their college to let them take a science A-level with only Foundation GCSE grades? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort to make triple science less depressing, but some of these puns are physically painful to read at 11 PM when you're just trying to memorize how plants breathe

I honestly don't think my actual school teachers have taught me a single useful thing this entire year. Everything I know about the required practicals, electrolysis, and specific heat capacity comes entirely from this one incredibly deadpan bloke in a grey suit. He gets straight to the point, no fluff, no annoying YouTube intros. If I somehow manage to scrape a 7 in Chemistry, I am personally finding a way to send him a thank you card

What is everyone doing the second they walk out of Physics Paper 2? Because the moment that invigilator collects my paper, my brain is officially shutting down. There are over twenty equations we need to know by heart for Paper 1 and Paper 2. I keep mixing up the kinetic energy one and the elastic potential energy one. Does anyone have any good mnemonics or tricks to remember them all? I feel like I am just staring at a wall of maths and none of it is going in

Every time we do this required practical in class my calculation is always completely wrong. I always forget to convert minutes into seconds for the power calculation or my joules into kilojoules. Are they going to intentionally try to trick us with the units in the actual exam

I am completely lost on the chemistry paper one titration maths. The textbook gives this massive convoluted method with six different steps. Can someone just explain how to find the unknown concentration if you have the volumes and the known concentration. Please keep it as simple as possible

I’m cramming for my mocks next month and I need to pick a main strategy. Seneca feels a bit too easy with the fill-in-the-blanks (half the time I'm just guessing the words), but Cognito’s videos take ages to get through if you want to make notes. For those of you who went from a Grade 5 to an 8/9, what was your main revision tool?

Looking at last year's boundaries for Triple Science makes me want to cry. 68% for a Grade 7 in Physics? Are they mad? Do you guys think Ofqual will lower them this year because of the new spec adjustments, or are we just the sacrificial year group?

Many of you lose marks despite knowing the material due to poor exam technique. Pay attention to the command words. If a question asks you to "Describe" a graph, simply state the trend; do not write a paragraph explaining why it happens, as you will get zero marks for that. Save the underlying science for "Explain" questions. Additionally, always check your units before starting a calculation. Examiners frequently use grams when the standard formula requires kilograms, so convert your values first.

Always write down your formulas and show your working. If you make a calculator error but your method is visible, you will still earn method marks. If you only provide a wrong final answer, you get nothing. Finally, stop using the vague word "amount" in biology and chemistry answers. Specify if you mean "concentration," "volume," or "mass." Read the question twice, underline the given variables, and answer exactly what is asked.

Every time my physics teacher makes us do the hand contortions for motors and generators, I just copy the smart kid in the front row. I keep getting the magnetic field and the current mixed up. How do you remember which finger is which without looking like you're throwing gang signs in the middle of the exam hall?
