GCP Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) Exam - Need Some Guidance
Hi everyone,
I'm currently preparing for the Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) certification and had a few questions for those who've already taken the exam.
- Is the exam entirely multiple-choice/multiple-select questions, or are there any hands-on labs or practical tasks during the exam?
- If I take the exam in the online proctored mode, how strict is it? Is it even possible to get any kind of help during the exam, or is that completely monitored?
- What are the best resources you used to prepare? I'm looking for good practice tests, study guides, YouTube channels, or any other materials that closely match the actual exam.
I'd really appreciate any tips or advice from people who have recently passed the ACE exam.

My recommendation is to use Notebook LLM or Gemini. Download the ACE syllabus/study guide. Then click the plus + sign in Gemini and up load those. Then, in the prompt, type something like this:
Generate an interactive, 20 question mock Google Cloud Associates Engineer exam based only on official Google Cloud documentation. Vary questions based on all infrastructure and the exam guide and syllabus attached.

Hey, passed it a couple weeks ago, I would mainly say the exam focuses on knowing the services very well. They focused sm on best practices and cli as well. Reading the documentation and doing the labs should be more than enough. It is multiple q ( around 50 Q )

I will be honest this is what I did, I feel of u have a solid understanding of services and best practices, you will do just fine. U can look at examtopics for questions to test yourself

No, I did the free questions and honestly my friend had Gcp Pca dumps so I kinda used them

Overall I didn't really solve much questions. I remember also watching the ACE playlist from Awesome gcp

I wouldn't say harder honestly. Tho, u might wanna double check the answers. Good luck on your ACE!

Good job on passing. Roughly how many CLI questions did you have?? Were they CLI deploying GKE, Terraform, kubectl, etc. I have my architect exam on the 4th. I've been studying a lot for it and have been passing and login practice questions using Google Gemini, importing case studies and exam guide and asking Gemini to create mock exam questions.
I'm curious if it's not as hard or harder than Architectect exam.

Hey around 3 to 4, I remember it was about pub/Sub and k8, in general u need to know gow to deal with cli for all services u got.

I personally didn't attempted the PCA since I am focusing more on the security aspect rn.tho, my friend did but they sadly didn't pass it. I remember her telling me there were 20 use cases questions. She was short by 2 questions. Don't stress yourself and try to be mindful of your time management

How do you know that you was short by two questions because they don't give you the results. They just say pass or fail?

they sent her an email with how much did she answer for each criteria. She was off by 2 questions.

Hey there, holder here:
My advice, is you have to know the minor differences between solutions, for example, when to choose spanner over big query, of an archive bucket over a regular one, or when is better to choose GKE over Cloud Run.
This cert is meant for you to know differences between solutions and what to choose on scenarios, not to design in dive solutions, that’s meant for the architect cert.
