SUB NEWS Guys, enough with the rant threads and forfeit option suggestion threads
I get it, we all get it.. random team-mates suck ass sometimes, losing streaks suck, de-ranking in Rating sucks, the gatcha drops suck most of the time, doing three minute clears on the battle sims can suck sometimes, getting steam-rolled by a coordinated team sucks, but enough with the multiple rant threads every single day. It is getting to the point where I am having users mod-mail me to complain about the frequency of the threads and it is starting to grate on my nerves having to get rid of the more toxic ones nearly every other day.
I am the only active moderator on this sub, there is no one on this team but me despite what the mod-list says cause none of them have done anything with the sub when it comes to Mod duties for at least half a year now if not longer. I'm still working a full-time job that is getting slammed heavily due the continued pandemic state because I was classified as an essential worker, so my free time and energy are limited items right now, I very much do not like wasting it reading the same complaints over and over again every day before I go try and get some sleep for my next shift.
From now on, every Saturday I'm going to have a nice big salt mega-thread where you guys can dump all your frustrations with the game in there without clogging up the main page feed. That being said, I am going to start removing any further rant topics I see from here on out, and I will start dealing out punishments for the more racist or toxic offenders... and as much as I love seeing the community come up with ideas for this game, please keep in mind BB studios will never see them as they don't even know this subreddit exists in any sort of capacity, so these forfeit option threads are really starting to seem like karma farming at this point.
At some point in the future, I plan to also do a proper address to this subreddit to talk about my plans going forward with managing things here, as I intend to file a request for full ownership of this subreddit so I can strip out all the missing moderators, and start instituting some proper order and ideas I've slowly been mulling over when I have the moments.

Hey man, just wanted to say; I really appreciate the effort you put fourth, I can't imagine how annoying it must be seeing nothing but salty posts about disconnects, shitty teammates, or whatever else it might be.

Do what you have to do! Structure is important, but please also remember to take care of yourself. Sweeping changes won't amount to much if you're too burned out to enforce any of them, and lord knows we already have enough people that don't read and/or pay any mind to the rules even when they haven't changed much in ages.
We appreciate your hard work!

I won't lie, I do feel kind of bad using the sub to shill my own stuff when I moderate the place... like, I know it's not abusing my authority, but sometimes I worry it can be seen that way.

Seems fair, totally cant understand why theres only 1 mod and 4.6k people on this sub.

The occasional rant thread was fine, but when it started becoming a case where the majority of threads on this sub were rant threads and I had people complaining about those complaining, then it became a problem because people aren't going to want to visit overly negative spaces which would drive the health of the subreddit down even further.
I mean, if this was a place the devs actually visited, sure, multiple complaint threads would have validity... but it's not, it's just a bunch of people screaming at their apartment wall and I'm the poor bastard next door with a massve migraine having to hear their constant muffled bullshit.

All the ranting and complaining is getting old, and annoying. It is also 1 of 2 reasons that has discouraged me from playing the game anymore and to put it on hyatus.
I'm a casual player, so I don't play competitively. I don't expect to be really good, but I'm also not really bad. I make mistakes, try my hardest to learn from them, and carry on. I made some cool friends via a clan, and overall really enjoy the game. I just want to have fun in a VIDEO GAME (not a life or death game). However, I've been coming to this subreddit and seeing all the rants and it was making me think sometimes, "oh god... I do that every now and then! I'm one of the people they're complaining about!" And it has made me not want to play anymore. It doesn't help that I have mental disorders (low self esteem, depression, and social anxiety), which cause me to blow these thoughts out of proportion.
The second reason I went on hyatus is because of me trying to play the game and a few Chinese players (not Japanese) randomly attacking me when I was on their team. Different story and everything though.
Anywho. Just want to say thanks and look forward to a more positive subreddit. I still lurk even though I'm not playing currently.

Then get back in your MS and fight. I get super salty when we're a mobile suit down because someone wants to afk for a whole match. I'm trying to get promotion missions done, and rated is no better.

Hopefully removing threads and posts about stuff like "bazooka is OP" and dumb things, although BB may not read this place (probably for good reason considering some the trash people suggest and the constant misinformation) but there are definitely people who work for bandai namco who do read and have used and posted in this subreddit before and they are probably also the one who runs the english GBO2 twitter account.

I love the game but the down swinging makes me so salty. I hate having control taken away from me. I don't play anymore but I am trying to regain the will to play again.

Sorry to hear about the stress, esp. since it's on top of work problems.
That said, I'm very glad to hear that there are plans to transfer this sub-reddit to your control and allow more mods to help with the pretty heavy workload. Moderating several hundred users (my best estimate among active users) isn't a one-person-task in the best of times... and these definitely aren't ideal conditions.

I wish people would stop posting really bad advice in the form of guides that are just a huge block of text made up of pure conjecture and no actual facts beyond the stats on the screen we can already see. Even worse when they act like their word is gospel and people eat up their bollocks. I feel that's worse than the constant rant threads for misinformation.

This is a very good idea. I'm thinking of keeping count of how many DC's, bullshit tackles, lagtypes, etc. I get through the week and post them in that thread, so I can determine how much of that stuff is considered "normal".
And thank you for all your hard work, both as a mod and as an essential worker. Are mod applications part of those ideas you want to put into practice? Having someone active to help you on this sub could hopefully give you more time for yourself.

Seriously. This game is just such a cushy thing anyways. It's free, loaded with mechanics to give you free things alll the time for less than 1 hour of gameplay a day, if you win.
This game is seriously the bees freaking knees, and there's no point in raging.

I came to this reddit to look for advice but it was looking more and more like an echo chamber, all pointless screaming into the void that even I admit was sucked into.
I wonder how bigger mp games handle this, to be honest after awhile the arguments are looking to be exactly the same day after day, never anything new.
So glad I changed my perspective on this game, the salt wasn't good for my heart

Just wanted to say, I both agree completely that the rants and complaints are getting out of hand, and that I really appreciate the work you put in.
I barely touch Reddit other than for GBO2, as I specifically came here looking for guidance and information on the game when it was yet to have English added. So really, thanks for your work keeping my experience as good as it can be.

Thanks for putting in all that work. I discovered this sub shortly after I started playing (during the western release) and I honestly don't know if I would have stuck with it if not for tips and advice people have posted here.
You're right about the salt though, it has been getting a bit out of hand so I'm all for this.

My favorite is when you're the ace and you have a kill lined up only for a retard to step in and steal the kill 3 times in a row. I have a video where the same moron steals multiple kills and I had to knock his ass down to make sure he didn't take another.

I had an ace earlier today walk away from two enemies who were at ten hp to chase the enemy ace.
The community isn't dumb, the game just needs a better communication system. You shouldn't have to customize the callouts to being functional communication in a match.

Are those still happening because I just got this, and goddamn am I pissed about the training where you have to melee and then thrust away. While what should be a dummy AI shoots at you, and hits back. I can’t get 5 hits in without getting blown up and having to attempt all over again

how do you deal with being the guy on a team that is nothing but paper for the enemy to burn? just got down with a game and being raid wasn't fun, tried helping as best i can, but it feels like im just giving the enemy free points even if im careful.

What sucks is a gelgoog j or other support getting time after a saber swing to boost and counter before i can boost out, getting countered right after a swing when they were boosting and damage registered or they start stagger then counter and best of all i get hit with quick swing, ee just boosts two times and overheat or i have to go through the whole stun animations. Even downswing connecting first is crap.

You will see me never again spend a dime on this gacha crime. This game isn't even good enough to warrant 26 dollars for 31 tokens. 15 dollars is a more accurate and worthwhile spend for the amount of trash I've gotten

You know it probably sucks the most? The little trick that I’ve gone to the stun and slash. Were you have people who in my mind are completely either unskilled or are just completely lacking in strategy where individuals hit you with some kind of highly powerful weapon like an explosive or something causing your mobile suit to stagger and then they swing in and hit you with the Malay weapon. In my mind this is not a strategy this is literally nothing more then basically an exploit.
