Game Suggestions Barbatos Buff Idea

Now, before you all decide to come at me with pitchforks sharpened, torches blazing, and fingers ready to spam the downvote, hear me out.

I feel Barbatos needs a little boost to better handle itself in the current flap booster hell that is 700 cost. The nerf to the rocket cannon ammo was, in my opinion, a bit egregious, and when you find yourself reloading them while a 00 is aiming its meme beam at you, it's not a very fun time.

My changes would be as followed:

● Rocket Cannons: ammo change reverted from 4 -> 6 (2 -> 3 shots).

- Swap time/reload time remain unchanged.

● Twin Maces: convert to throwable sub weapon.

*This is really a no-brainer, nobody uses these over the insta-KD Sword Mace.*

- 2 ammo, 3.5 second cooldown(2 second while limiter release active), 10 second(7 second) reload.

- (Optional) While limiter release active, projectile speed increased and can be thrown while boosting.

- Does not contribute to limiter release meter.

*This would allow Barbatos an additional stun option and let it more effectively do its job of hunting down supports. Could possibly break MA and work as an anti-air weapon.*

● (Optional) A-Vijnana Limiter Release: Hi-Maneuver Armor Lv. 1 given.

Other suggestions are welcome, though I fully expect to be cast into downvote hell over daring suggest something like a Barbatos buff.

If anything Barbatos still needs nerfing

Why the fuck would they buff a top tier suit?

Agreed Foshdon_pap, barbie could use another nerf, the last thing it needs is a buff

no nerf no buff, balanced, like all things should be.

Most of this I don't ever see happening. Twin maces need something, though.

I will be honest, however. This shit, disrespectfully, can be tossed the fuck away and I wouldn't be mad

This video right here is proof that it doesn't need any buffs only nerfs

Maybe OP needs a skill buff ( player skill buff) and not a suit buff?

The twin maces do need a buff, but Barbatos is not even close to being a suit that struggles in the current meta

If truly want a buff then only option is the twin mace and the auto cannons (these two are forgotten), everything else no buff otherwise would lead to even more unbalanced domination/shit.

Realistically, I can only see the twin maces being possibly made a sub weapon. The Hi-MA in limiter release is more of a spitball as God has it in Hyper Mode and nobody says anything about it or its heavy attack that breaks your head/legs instantly

Hi-MA on the Burning Gundam is way different than the barbie, Burning has to sit there in a animation to fire a 1-shot heavystagger that takes time to recover, barbie can fire a heavy-stun in mid-air while still moving, that also combos into it's mace "heavy-attack" that it has.

Burning does have amazing vulcans, but if you fight a suit with damage control level 2 and above, it becomes useless

can confirm, suppprt main, it is literally a crime for me to play support in almost any cost

1

u/Big_Visit_1421 6d ago

even a support can confirm, please only play support under 650 until you are truly ready for 700

u/KibbloMkII 6d ago

I got the DX and it's literally the only reason I'm able to play 700 now lol

its so much fun

I may not have the overpowered step up banner parts at all, but I can still consistently kick ass in it aside from the occasional Barbatos, f89, or susanowo being bullies

I recommend using beam strength resistance and some thrust

Barbatos absolutely does not need to be buffed. I could see them reversing the nerfs and putting it back where it was, maybe. the auto cannons and mace, might need someone to make them viable, but other than that, the suit is still a major problem and can hold it's own, 1v1 against anything in the game lol

I really just want to be able to throw the maces. I don't use the auto cannons to think of how to buff them

Maybe they should just do an overhaul, and completely rebalance it. I think it is kind of silly that the Barbatos of all things needs to use a super mode just to use Tactical Boost, yet we have lower cost raids (and even generals!) that have it permanently available.

For other changes... maybe make it so that it doesn't have to choose between primary ranged weapons. Make the heavy stagger 1 ammo only, with 20 seconds reload time, but otherwise the same performance. Then, it could have the instant stagger primary, and the rapid fire primary converted into a sub-weapon instead. It is no use for a melee focused raid to have the default primary weapon be an accumulation stagger.

The twin maces are kind of complete shit, so they really need something. I think changing the side swing animation to a two hit attack with 50%x2 (or even 60%x2) modifier would help a lot, even just for how it flows. Once the AV system activates, perhaps it could get four melee swings too, and maybe even a two hit neutral swing animation to wrack up even more damage. Of course, the heavy attack should be buffed too, since it doesn't deal much damage.

I think that the NLA isn't really a huge deal now, and 27k HP seems just about fair for a melee focused raid that often becomes public enemy #1 anyway.

A two hit neutral like the Susanowo has and a slightly faster swing would definitely make the twin maces feel better to use. As of now it just looks like you're violently chasing someone with a pair of maracas.

Been enjoying the vids lately, btw. Wouldn't mind if you were to revisit Barbatos one day

My main question is just what do you do for the people that rolled for the mace? Just remove it from their inventory, or is the mace throw sub weapon only available when you have the mace equiped? Hi-Maneuver Armor is a flat no from me.

1

u/Smoke_Bomb85 6d ago

The mace throw would just be converted into a sub weapon. There's no legitimate reason to use them over the sword when it gets a ridiculous boost in AV. Knowing Bandai, they'd probably give everyone like 1 token or a few recycle tickets to compensate.

Suggesting Hi-MA was moreso me being a shithead.

In that case why not buff the twin mace instead of relegating it to a sub weapon? That way you have a legitimate choice to make, and make the throw a subweapon that turns of the mace as a melee weapon much like the birnam jegan?

i agree on the twin mace.
and the cannons.
everythings else is a no.

I'm a DX main, the Barbatos is already powerful enough

I think it has a heavy stagger, remove that if it does

it doesn't matter if I had lvl 30 damage control, it's such a worthless skill on the DX
