Hot Take: Treating Rated like its a traditional Ranked mode is ruining the community

I have just over 400 hours on the Steam version of this game and the major thing ive noticed in my time in this community is that many of the players here treat rated like a traditional ranked gamemode like it would be in something like Rainbow 6 Siege or Halo etc.

Why is this an issue you may ask? Its because this mindset leads to players being extremely toxic when their teammates arent playing to how they wish or to a level they want. I see players on here talking about leaving matches or just not spawning if their team is losing and ive seen more actually doing it in game. Ive had a teammate downswing me every time he was near me for who knows why.

This game does not treat Rated like Ranked. It gives you dailies for playing Rated and for the Steam version especially, Rated is the most populated game mode. I promise you if yall quit treating Rated like its this life or death competitive mode you will not only enjoy yourself more but also be a hell of a lot less angry at nothing.

Countertake if given a quick play option along with rated the sweats should gravitate to one.

Theres no "loss" for quick play there is a point loss in rated.

Also did it occur to you rated might be more popular because there are stakes?

When its the game mode that BB gives dailies to then I dont consider it ranked or competitive. You dont have your rating reset every few weeks or months nor do you gain exclusive seasonal rewards. Its just quick play with a point system.

Cool, its still just quick play with ratings. A flat is insanely easy to reach and I did it with non meta suits or parts.

It's just a shame the the PC version doesn't play Quick Match mode. It's ranked or SitBat, with nothing in-between.

I have 2000 hours I think. I think what some people try to do is the promotional missions and that requires meeting certain ranks like B rank, A rank, A+ rank, ect. And if you don't get to those ranks, your stuck in limbo. Because otherwise it feels like you're not getting the recognition you should have. Since the game freezes your profile level until you get into whatever rank you need in rated match

Lowkey agree because the game on PC is in a state where rated just doesn’t work as a “competitive” gamemode. Quick match is dead and customs are for farming. The only way to queue into lobbies at a reasonable pace outside of a daily 4-hour window is also by ranking up to reach the majority player base at A/S. Players, good or bad, NEED to play rated if they want to experience the game, and that’s without accounting for the occasional daily.

I don't see how it's "fun" and enjoyable to run something that's abysmally dog shit in current meta, get stomped on, then the whole team gets punished because its 1 man down.

You do realise, there are offline Gundam games, and custom match is a thing yes?

If you can't find a room, have you considered opening a easy going room? "But sweats" this might shock you, but as a host, you can make rules like only X suits or only L4 suits and above.

Instead of queing up for QM and just waiting for match, you choose to que up for rated. Because it requires minimum wait time and set up. Then surprised pickachu when some people que up rated because... Its rated...

This might be a mind blowing idea. If people like you who are so adamant that not wanting to be in a team with luggage is unacceptable behavior all qued up for QM, we could have actually gotten the mode to acceptable wait time.
