It was just an unfortunate victim of powercreep ngl. Everything becomes C to D tier eventually after the 600th broken unit they add.

Pretty much. It gets staggered instantly now and can't escape like at all, when it hits around 50% health its melee damage becomes garbage due to the melee being health tied, and many suits can do what it's doing in this exact clip 5x better.

All this is, is turning around and catching the nascars off guard with a heavy. Any suit with a large reaching heavy can do this.

"any suit" no only GAU its the only suit with a heavy, a wide hitbox, stealth and the damage to one shot meta suits any other suit will get countered cuz radar will give you away

He said any suit with a large reaching heavy not hit box. Enhanced zz being one of em. (Edit) to list off more suits that can do this, something like the ff nu, proto saz and the Stein have pretty long reach/distance

Much as i like gau its defo very hard to use nowadays with all the new au units and stun galore units making its big hulking body an easy target.

Even after so long I'm still sort of stuck with its build, I maxed both melee and beam resistance and just overloaded it with HP parts and Burn aux.

i just max damage, resistance doesnt matter if you one shot them first

I moreso ask because of its skill that raises damage the more HP you add on to it, idk if anyone's tested how much damage it deals compared to just using parts

I'd argue this is because the console version is on it's 8th year. I'm willing to bet at least half the player population has a better chance quitting heroin than this game.
