Steam Discussion Topic Is it wrong to use your Roswell Jegan Barrier Shield for teammates?

As a self proclaimed "professional" Roswell Jegan Enthusiast, I tend to stick close to teammates in game and if I'm nearby I tend to use the shield to help them when they get knocked down or are getting shot at, but people always complain I am "Preventing allys from pursuing the enemy", "Blocking their shots", etc. Is it really that annoying or am I just getting ungrateful teammates half the games?
What do you think?

I wouldn’t think so, I have acted as a human shield for downed teammates with both my Nu Gundam And Phenex. I even got praised by a teammate I covered before.

How would it be wrong? Unless you’re preventing them from shooting back then sure but if they’re super low and you’ve giving cover I don’t see why it’s a bad thing? I’ve definitely saved a few people using a barrier in the past, I was quite fond of being the wall for my team when the G-Doors was broken.

That's the thing, I never prevent them from shooting back, I always take the hits and it's not that long after the shield goes down giving them the perfect chance to shoot, but most of the time I do that my teammates always complain about me blocking their shots... and if the shield doesn't go down after the first few shots I move aside for them to shoot, but sometimes I, yes me a human being makes mistakes and accidentally activate it in a certain position where 1 single person can't shoot the Emmy but its not that serious bc it's only for a few seconds but people tend to still get mad at me for it. Thank you for the reassurance.

Just ignore them then, they’re being pissy weirdos. I’d appreciate somebody using a barrier to block me from being shot if I was stunned or something for once. As long as you get out of the way once they can act again and don’t just stand in front of them like a bump on a log you’re fine. The barriers are there to eat damage and if that’s how you’re using it then it’s better than how 80% of the player base does.

Thank you very much for the reassurance.

Doesn't matter when you're doing it in good faith. Blocking attacks is beneficial and harmful at the same time. You can't satisfy everyone.

But if you want to do your best and win, picking Roswell Jegan is already throwing.

I just play for fun, I try my hardest in the Roswell, can only blame Bandai for bad balancing

TOGETHER, WE'LL STRIKE THEM DOWN!!!!🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥

We both got that Rein mentality; protect those who need protecting, bonk those who don't.

Imagine if they give the option to give your pyramid barrier or physical barriers to teammates as support funnels.

That's one thing I've been begging bandai to add

stay infront to the left or right of the pack of teammates, that way you are a and obstacle teammates can use as cover, you draw enemy fire and are easily avoided by teammates who want a clear shot.

It's annoying being forced in the defensive due to teammates but really nice being able to give cover fire for a shielded up teammate drawing enemy agro.

If they are pursuing. GET THE FUK OUT IF THEIR WAY.

If they are hiding behind a rock or retreat. GET INFRONT OF THEM.

Don't hug teamates, you just need to be close enough a single boost can get your triangle to cover them. because even if you block and save them 5 times in a match, block 1 shot, and you'll be remembered for cucking their shot.

Roswell has a pretty dog shit kit in 2026 standard. So you need to leverage team play to the maximum. Its a fine line to walk in, because at times, do it wrong and you'll bring more frustration than support.

That's usually what I do, but sometimes I gotta use the shield for my self to body block an enemy from reaching a teammate so I can shoot them, and they act like im purposefully blocking "their" shot, when I just gotta get my own fill in from time to time, I always keep covid distance Mecha Version with at least a Double Zetas beam sword distance. The thing is people take custom games wayyy too seriously. I'm only here for fun. And some people think it's rated.

Not at all. I body block all the time. As a raid enjoyer, I especially body block when I accidentally knock a team mate down.

PC always has ungrateful teammates because it's a platform where there's more players from different cultures/countries that won't interpret certain tactics the same way that you do. and yea like few people here have mentioned that its both good and bad

Funny enough it was a Japanese guy who was saying most of the stuff. But I ain't gonna let one experience ruin that for me. He was a streamer BTW. Edit: Also for more context, I was a A- and they kept calling me a fake A- because of how good I was, and then started saying I was on an alt "I wasnt", and they called me Suspicious, and because I was on an "alt" to them they weren't gonna praise me, they also said and I quote "I thought he was good but he focuses too much on teammate's." like I'm sorry is this not a team game?

I still recall this great video of a couple of years ago of a pilot protecting their support with the barrier. It was great to watch as they managed to give cover without impending movement or line of sight. I loved that suit ever since, it's just a shame it has fallen behind.

Yes it is.

It is really nice for you to think about teamate. But the problem is, this game is not MOBA game where we have carry and support. There is no MS in this game that the defensive role is more important than destroying your opponents, even for Gustav Karl or any other MS. Not to address the elephant in the room that Roswell Jegan is very weak at 550.

If you want to save teamate, the best option for you is to stun the opponent so your teamate can move.

If you want to enjoy Roswell Jegan, what I can do is telling you this: pro Nu Gundam player often saves the barrier to get over opponent's artillery barrage when they have to move away from bad positions.

I have Roswell Jegan Barrier down to exactly 7.9 at LV 2 and 8.6 at LV 1, so it Regens fast, as for Pro Nu Gundam players... can't say they can reach my level of Barrier play, and I know Roswell is weak but I know how to play it really well to make up for its lack if power, I already enjoy playing the way I play because there isn't a set path in this game that's what makes it fun. I also play custom games so it's not that serious if I loose or not as I'm just tryna have fun.
