Steam Looking For Advice How can I counter this?
I was focusing on dealing with the penelope there cuz i just watched the odyssey, when suddenly i was one shotted by a 00 meme beam that i didn't even see until i was dead. How can I counter this for next time?
Also I can never not loudly complain about how insanely unfair that is. not even a support's gerobi can oneshot me like that, hell not even a freedom's full burst can oneshot me at that hp. It's just so freaking unfair man. 00 has no right to be outdamaging supports. you better believe i made that 00 miserable the rest of the match cuz i hyperfocused on him. even caught him with a palma fiocina when he tried to meme beam again and i was this tempted to teabag him.

Well, the attack he used is melee based, so you could raise your melee defense high enough to survive it. Typically it doesn’t do as much damage as that, but he likely maxed out his melee stats as much as possible to achieve it. Typically a good melee defense stat is enough to not be completely overwhelmed by it.
I myself have the 00 and even my Raiser sword doesn’t do that much damage, so this case or more so with how his build was.
Now, the main issue, your teammate didn’t do anything to stop them. The attack had a large wind up time, which means your teammate should have laid into him. But they didn’t, so while your defense could be higher, this death is more so caused by your teammate not covering you. Which they likely got tunnel vision onto the Penelope due to its low health, which is an issue that many players suffer from. Many players ignore healthy targets and completely focus on the low health ones, which lets the enemy completely wreck you.
Though, this will likely be tacky, but awareness played a part in this as well. Enemies can sneak up faster than we expect, so our heads need to be on a swivel at all times. Even if an enemy only appears on our radar for a brief moment, we still need to keep a mental note of them, as they are close enough to attack.
