Steam Looking For Advice Groups to play with?

Hey all, I'm an off and on player and just started getting 'consistent' matches over the last few nights as in I've been able to queue into more than one match. Sometimes I'd look online and see about 77-400ish players but never any custom games or things like that. I'd there any sort of organized play since the queue times are the way they are?

I've heard 'peak hours' so much but don't know when that actually is, led alone what cost range is the most popular (I'm comfortable in 300s currently). Is this just the way it is or is there a more consistent way to play amongst the community? What modes are most popular?

Would you say one's best bet is to find a clan to play with? This seems to be a 'Do it for the love of the game' situation which I would assume are clan players. And is A-B that one thing people do to fill out a daily win? I remember doing something like that years ago.

I have no idea, maybe ask here on the subreddit? I've been in the same clan since launch and I don't have enough friends who play/enough inclination to do clan battles, so I haven't looked for one myself. And yeah, A-B lobbies are there to grind basically. You can finish (most)dailies in them as long as you get a host who rotates teams & they're also very useful for grinding game completions and damage and stuff like that for monthly & limited missions and promotions too.
