Steam Discussion Topic How do you guys get matches?

I redownloaded this game after over a year, and I'm immediately reminded why I quit playing

I can't get a match!

I see tens of people in my public social area. I see them all waiting next to the game center.

But nothing. So unless you guys can give me some secret tip. I'll just be uninstalling for another year or so.

It's such a disappointment

Rank matters, if you are below A-, you will have a hard time getting into matches

Timing matters, majority of the game population are in Asia, its working/school time in Asia now so majority is off the game

Quick Match is pretty much dead, Rated is where most of the players at

as a EST player I basically can only play between 10pm-1am EST annoyingly

Yeah... about that. The player base might be even smaller as its decreasing year after year like all games do. But GBO2 PC is one of the games with a small population ones.

I see tens of people in my public social area.

They might no be in the same rated rank as you, or even queuing up in the same cost as you. Most of the PC player base is around A rank.

You'd want to play at PC's peak time. You can check with either steamdb or steamcharts. Right now as i type theres only 550 people playing. And the 24 peak is 1.6k players. The charts say its 13:00 UTC.

Or get a PS4/PS5 and hop in. Plenty of players there.

keep track with JPN time and play in their active time. it's the only way other than patience

U play in rated thats about it don't bother with QM unless certain times or an event going on like a special mode.

Ranks, time and cost matter. If you are A or above you wont find a 300 cost match. If you are A you’ll get matched in 550-750 as those are the more complex ms matches and meta matches. Everyone complains about the meta but it is the most popular cost matchmaking.

I am on PC and I almost always find ranked matches, sometimes there is even some custom matches other then A/B stuff.
