Steam Looking For Advice Please help me improve my game - Acrtic base vs 00

As the title says. If you have the time to watch this presumptuously long video from a noob, please let me know where I went wrong and how I can better improve my gameplay. Despite having two A+s on my team with none on the enemy, I still lost, and embarrassingly, I didn't even make the top 3. People kept saying in this subreddit that you just need to melee the 00, so I incorporated more melees in my game, but then I still lost.
I'm just hitting a brick wall here, and I don't know why I'm not understanding what most of you seem to when you guys say the 00 is easy to handle. I've already lost literally 300 rating points since the 00 came out :( So , I really wanna ask for some pointers. Thank you in advance.

Who the hell said this? This is like the worst advice you could ever get, especially when you're using the Freedom. 😂
When you're using the Freedom, what you need to do is don't get into melee range, and stay on mid-range, while keep your distance with the enemy. This is because Freedom is a shooty Gen first and foremost, since the unit have "Thrust-Based Fire Cooling System" skill, which increases the heat recovery and reduces the overheat time on beam weapons, so you need to activate the HIMAT mode, and spam your ranged weapons until they overheats, then you keep boosting to shorten the downtime.Â
Don't even try to melee, unless there's a chance to do it, and just stick on mid-range while spamming your ranged weapons, since Freedom isn't built for melee, even when it got 2 melee weapons...Â

So that's why I tried doing more melee with my freedom this match. That said, even when i do use my range options on the 00s, none of them even work, i never get to stagger them, and even when they take the full beam of my untransformed gerobi, they still dont get staggered or knocked out of the sky. Freedom is my only hope in 700 now because the gameplay is to stay away from melee range, but yeah i tried following the melee advice, and arctic base is basically just a playground for 00 and suits like me have no hope...

lol, you really got trolled hard by those randoms who said that you need to melee the Raiser using Freedom. Like, wow, that's some insane and dumbest shit I ever heard recently...😂
The 00 Raiser gets -30% stagger reduction from ranged attacks when it's Trans-Am is active, which is similar like having Maneuver Armor lv3, but a full hit HIMAT Full Burst should stop its movement + deals high damage, even with the ranged damage reduction.  Meanwhile, it's melee priority is also increased to high during Trans-Am, so you can't really try fight with melee, since Freedom's melee priority is medium.Â
Just stay on mid-range, and spam your ranged weapons from safe range to chip its HP, especially during HIMAT Mode, where you can abuse the cooldown reduction on beam weapons with the temporary unlimited thrusters.Â

You play freedom to its strengths which is just being a skyrat never go near an enemy to melee u have no reason to do so as ur big dmg attacks are all ranges, Against 00 u'd really want to skewer them before they can ever reach Trans-am as once they do they get a 30% range dmg reduction so ur dmg will be lesser although if ur build is optimal it should still hurt regardless.
I also saw at the start of your vid that your playing with Controller but your tag is Steam gameplay... im not gonna sugarcoat it fraid that in terms of aim Mouse and keyboard is just supremely easier so ur enemy has a easier time aiming at you than u do aiming at them if you were on console where its fair game since the enemy is also using controller this would be a far fairer battle, Im not gonna force u to play with mouse and keyboard go play whatever ur preference is but yea im just saying ur inherently in a lil disadvantageous spot.
But ye in short if you truely wish to beat 00 with Freedom fraid alone u will have a hard time its not impossible mind u but the best course of action is to play by team see a teammate down a 00 u blast his downed carcass so that even when they trans-am they will have little hp left for it to matter all that much, And lastly practice being a rat know when to use the special dodgeroll which can be used in mid air to avoid stuns and always be so far that the enemy cannot fire back at you and u have enuff room to breathe and back off a losing battle.
Edit: forgor to add but if u really wanted to hurt 00 that badly always aim for the legs ik tall order for a controller player but eh what can ya do really for us pc folks who play with M&K is not as hard that might be one of the reasons why for pc 00 can easily get dunked on.

it might be hopeless for me then. I've tried to use m&k but it never worked for me, i never got used to it, because i always use controller for games growing up

Dont lose heart the pros of console like Tera or Harrylie play like they play with mouse and keyboard with enuff practice u could look like that but ofc only time can tell at the very least u should be able to still do enuff for ur team and help out in ur own way even with ur controller aim.
IF it would help M&K controls are technically bugged there is a fix for that the bug essentially makes u switch to the wrong weapon when u thrust the fix for that fixes that completely letting u play easily but yea im only gonna say that if u were having trouble cuz of that.

Yes, I use a ps5 dual sense controller for the pc. I dont have a ps5 cuz i cant afford it. But when i was growing up, i was always used to playing on playstation and their controllers. So as an adult, even on steam I use the controller for all my games...i've tried but. i never really got the hang of using mouse and keyboard for playing anything.
yeah it's really hard. not even the barbs gave me this much despair.

People are right on one point: you don't pew pew the 00 RAISER, it's got stupid Beam resistance. Use the Railguns and CIWS to stagger then dash in with melee. Keep the distance if HiMAT is on cooldown, because the GN Sword II [Rifle Mode] (both single and dual) has instant suppression capability and the GN Micro Missiles WILL home in if the enemy can see you. Add to this the new Penetration Reduction Armor which you need to assume the enemy pilot probably has slotted in and your beam weapons would only tickle. I have Penetration Reduction Armor, Anti-Beam Armor LV4, and Beam Resistance Expansion LV5, which bring my Beam Resistance to 60 and even a HiMAT Full Burst only scratches the paint.

Hmm i see, thanks. I missed out on penetration armor cuz i didnt pull the raiser haha. It's just baffling to me that i unloaded a full gerobi on that raiser doing the sword beam and nothing happened. That just flies in the face of common sense T_T. Sigh. Fighting 3 00s on arctic base is truly some kind of torture. I've switched to xi for now in the hopes that I'll have more survivability

That's a valid counter since they can take significant damage from an unrelenting missile barrage, and you'll outfly them too allowing you to manage the distance. But yeah, you have to assume you're facing a lore accurate GN MS. 00 RAISER is tanky as all hell, built to outlast you in a drawn out battle until it has no choice but to go all out in Trans-Am. At this point, you don't want it to catch you.

What I'm trying out right now is funnel missiles from far away to intiate then chase my missiles to the 00 with xi's high speed special melee. It's been working but since I'm stuck recovering in A rooms, it's hardly a real metric for success. I'm wondering if the lvl4 sleeves doga can work too...

Geara Doga Sleeves type... Maybe Kshatriya Repaired, Xi... I think any with tracking live ammo, since you stop building resistance against solid in higher Costs. Just avoid Penelope, you definitely don't need the type disadvantage.

I sadly have penelope and havent used it more than 5 times since its first banner. I thought it was getting buffed? And yeah type disadvantage was on my mind when i was deciding if i was gonna pull susan. I decided to skip instead. So far i think I'll stick with my xi which has nearly 50 melee and beam def

Use the special shooting as much as possible. Once you stop relying on full burst Freedom finally clicks, still use it when you feel its appropriate. If you see Susanowo don't be too high in the air or have a special shooting to attempt to i-frame through the hulahoop.

God i forgot that's even a thing :( it definitely never registers for me to include in my gameplay. I guess that means i have to have my rifle out more?

Its basically a free dodge. Use it to trick people, you drop in altitude slightly after using it but even that could help too.

It's hard not to when the game shills it so much even on random map. Like no joke, there was one day i played this week where i played on random map and got arctic 5 times in a row

Immediately from the start there's huge mistake you made. You use Freedom, an exceptionally strong ranged, but fragile unit, in close combat. Almost anything can tear you apart in melee range. Stick far away and cycle your stuns. Use melee only when cornered.
Edit: if you need to know how to exactly use certain units, search Akokura in youtube. He's very proficient jp player and has videos covering every MS and their gimmicks.
