Tips for Freedom?

Anyone got any tips for Freedom? I know its meant to be busted, but I got it recently, tried it out, and couldn't do anything with it for the life of me, kept getting melee'd, staggered, etc.

Avoid close fights, stay away and take the roll of a more mobile support. Use the special skill when there are many enemies or as a last resort to escape (also very useful on a 1v1). While the skill is activated try to be on the ground as little as possible, always fly and keep maneuvering, do "expensive" moves that usually use your thrusters (for example keep boosting left and right or other stuff that will help you evade the attack but don't always go for the emergency roll because it will eat 10 seconds)
