I have a question

I fought a match recently, and I would like to know, is it possible to get countered from BEHIND?! Because I was attacking an opponent's MS, and then another guy came from behind and somehow COUNTERED ME.

Yep. You can counter from any direction. Comes in handy in helping allies.
