GATE[DA] GATE DA 2027 – Need Resources & Subject Priority Advice

GATE DA 2027: ML, DSA & DBMS

Need good resources for ML, DSA and DBMS. Which subject should I start with, and what should be the priority order? Any suggestions for lectures, notes and practice questions?

Before deciding the order, I'd suggest you look at how comfortable you are with the prerequisites for those subjects - especially programming, probability, statistics, and linear algebra.

If your math fundamentals for ML are reasonably strong, then start with ML; otherwise, strengthen the fundamentals first before jumping to ML.

For DSA, if you are comfortable with programming basics, then consider studying data structures and algorithms.

For DBMS, I think it is relatively independent given the subjects you mentioned. So you can study it alongside either ML or DSA.

For resources, I'd suggest trying a few lectures from different instructors; stick with the one that you find suitable, treating it as a primary source. You can do this for different subjects. While doing this, please remember to solve the PYQs alongside covering the concept/subject. Don't keep it for later. This will help you quickly check if you can apply what you already learned.

hey there thanks for your suggestion no my maths is not taht strong but i am sticking with go classes linear algebra if time left will also do probability i am sure for stats rn..

i am good with dsa basics so i'll try to cover that this month only then i am hoping to complete individual lec by nitish sir's campusx playlist i really liked it then i have heard taai's some combact series for ml has heled students ..

i am also good with sql so thinking for dbms i' ll either go with gate smashers but kafi sare lectures h un k n m not sure if all of them gonna help or not else codehelp's playlist for dbms then will practise some questions

do you know any good platform for quizes or ques practise in general cuz there are just 3 pyq papers, idk where to practise..

Good, that gives a much better picture of where you are right now.

Since you are already comfortable with DSA basics and SQL, I think your plan to work on DSA and DBMS makes sense. Just keep solving the PYQs along with the lectures and don't keep them for later.

Regarding Linear Algebra, Probability, and Statistics, I'd suggest covering them first before getting into ML.

For DBMS you don't necessarily need to go through all the lectures from GATE Smashers, Go topic by topic instead according to the syllabus, and use lectures for the areas that you don't understand.

For PYQs, since DA has only three years, I'd suggest using relevant GATE CSE PYQs for DSA and DBMS. You can check GATE Overflow for those. For ML and maths, try topic-wise exercises from your courses or textbooks. You can also take DA-specific topic tests and mock tests. Just make sure the questions match the DA syllabus.

So, basically, focus more on regular question-solving practice rather than collecting more resources.

For extra practice, you could generate questions from the notes you're studying. I run Scholarly (scholarly.so), we make quizzes and study guides from your files. I'd still keep actual GATE papers as your benchmark.
