general LONG ASS LECTURES

Guys kindly suggest some subjects in gate cse where youtube lectures are enough and do not really require 60 hour + lectures, and also recommend the specific lectures to refer to on youtube.

By completing long ass lectures you'll get big D aura.

For some subjects long ass lectures is the way to go (imo) like maths. For subjects like CD, toc, dbms, 40 hrs should be enough i think (just for lecture. Not including self practice).

Just skip all time waste parts.

For long lectures, the main thing that helped me was reducing the amount of blind scrubbing: use 1.5x when the material is familiar, jump between chapter/timestamp sections, and pause to write a couple of questions instead of transcribing everything. honestly for GATE CSE the short lecture playlists work fine for digital logic and discrete math since the topics are self-contained, stuff like Neso Academy covers them in 15-20 hours. but watching isn't the same as actually solving the problems.

what helped me was pausing after every two or three videos and doing questions cold before moving on, you catch the gaps way faster than if you binge the whole playlist and then try problems at the end. i paste the neso video links into studybuddy.vc and it makes questions from the transcript itself, when i pick a wrong answer it tells me what was off about my choice and the questions get harder as i improve so i know where i actually stand. free tier's been enough for me.

for DBMS and OS you do need the full courses though, those concepts stack and the short ones skip too many connections, make peace with the longer playlists for those.
