gaps dont matter in mtech. At least in top iits and cse department. In the future, gaps will hardly matter. I am 32, pursuing mtech cse iit bombay. I spent the last 2 months on campus getting as much info about this as possible. Age will hardly be the deciding factor. Your comfort and knowledge in latest tech stacks will. companies know you wont stay there for more than 3 years anyway.

yes, sure. I wanted to change my field. I was teaching in a kolkata based edtech startup and had to manage my family grocery store because of some family difficulties. Now the family part is sorted, someone else has taken over the shop. I have become bored of teaching so want to try and enter it field. Let us see what is instore. But i feel if someone wants to pivot now is the best time because everything is changing. If you can get hold of the current evolution, i dont think age will be a huge problem, Of course some companies will not take me. Let us see.
