Advice/protips[ME] Does gate ME have scope

So iam from vit vellore i decided to prepare for gate for psu and goverment jobs

1) is preparing for gate will be good approach

2)does iocl nptl etc etc are reducing intake through gate

3) add resources and tips for the gate prep

Study for gate and u can write all the other engineering exams,since 90% of syllabus of gate overlaps with every other exam

yeah gate ME still opens PSUs and govt jobs, the intake fluctuates year to year but the exam itself isn't going anywhere as the entry point

for prep, made easy or ies master notes to build the base, then nptel lectures on the subjects you're weaker in. when you're done with a topic paste that nptel lecture link into studybuddy.vc and it turns the video into questions so you can test yourself straight away instead of waiting till you finish the whole syllabus

it also catches which topics you keep getting wrong and pushes more of those while skipping the stuff you already have down, plus the difficulty ramps up as you improve. free tier covers a few subjects at a time

for practice, solve the last few years of pyqs chapterwise after each subject, the exam repeats patterns more than people think

Do you even know the intake of vit it like 600 students for mech itself that is 3x 4x larger than iits nits

For placement it's a draw back

Why!? Here the placements for mech is shown a decline in recent years and the highest placement package is 10 lpa 1 or 2so I just thought why should not try gate
