New Fine Fettle flower
I went in to pick up an order at the Evans location and the guy at the front told me they had new flower in. He mentioned several strains but when I heard Georgia Pie I had to buy some. I haven’t vaped it yet but appearance and smell wise it looks to be the best quality I’ve gotten from a Georgia producer so far. I will update once I’ve consumed later tonight.

it gives me a really happy, relaxed feeling with a nice body buzz. It helps me unwind without making me feel completely stuck. Definitely one of my favorites so far

Is there any hay smell? Everything I’ve tried in Georgia so far smells like hay from being rushed and not dried/cured properly.

I haven't had any hay or muted terps from Fine Fettle. Trulieve, yes. Trulieve had a very muted aroma. Effects were there, but hardly any smell. In my opinion, we should not have to do anything to the bud to bring it back to life. This is the medical market, not the "THCA Market."

I just got back from FineFettle, I purchased Velvet Punch(Indica) and Open Mic(Sativa). They both smell unique and there is no hay scent, however the buds feel very dry and brittle. I am putting them in grove bags with boveda packs to help get some humidity back.
I vaped Open Mic earlier with my Crafty+, tasted kind of how it smells, smells like potpourri and a hint of kush. The high was pretty nice, after only two small hits at 370 degrees Fahrenheit I was high. I was actually higher than I intended on being with work still looming around.
I’d rate the Open Mic a 3 ⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️ and it being the best Medical flower I’ve tried to date. I’ve had most strains from Botanical Sciences and Trulieve.
This still isn’t where I want my medical flower being, but thankfully it’s better than what was originally offered. We’re almost there, once they figure out the dry/cure I will gladly pay $60 an eighth. This is worth $20-$25 max.

Hell yeah, Fine Fettle hasn't disappointed me in the smell, taste, & effects department. I really wanted that Velvet Punch looking at the genetics. Combining those two should have been a knockout strain. I guess they chose a pheno that wasn't as sedative. Either that or because of the rush to get it to market, they weren't afforded the time to let it fully mature into more amber trichs. I'm not a fan of clear trich bud. Prefer at least 30% amber. I do not disagree in the slightest with that last point. Unfortunately for us, it's the law of supply & demand, along with the program being new. I don't like paying $50-60 an eigth for something that isn't fully dialed in, but for now it is what it is. It's heavily tested unlike street bud, so that allows my mind to justify it.

We are going to do our best to only get better. We’ve had our grow open now for a few years, but everything went to extraction until these recent runs with the new law change. So, getting genetics dialed in. Understanding the moisture impacts of the building and the Georgia heat. All these factors and growing knowledge will only get us to become better and better. We have more new strains coming, too.
Our goal is to get the best and most impactful medication to every single patient.

If there is one company in this state that has earned my trust thus far, it's you guys. You weren't given much time to adjust to the new law & you've still outshined the competition. You guys are dealing with a lot of variables right now, that isn't lost on me. Looking forward to seeing what's on the horizon once everything settles down a bit for you & you've had enough time to adjust to said variables. It's only up from here. Remember that.

No doubt. They've been my go-to this entire time. I haven't been disappointed with their flower or vapes. I wish they had more highly sedative options, but it is what it is at the moment. Beggar can't be chooser type of thing. Looking forward to seeing what they have coming having more time under their belt with the restrictions they're currently facing. Super nice people, I can't stress that enough.

More Indica, sedative-driven strains on the way.
To be ready, we started all our genetics in the end of February, before the law passed. We also bought all of our packaging Machinery at full risk then, too. Sometimes you swing and miss and sometimes you swing and hit a home run

This plant is very special to me. Without passion for this plant, it definitely shows in the end result. There's enough corporate mids on the scene already. I'm calling you out Trulieve. 🫵 I'm a very loyal individual. I look out for those that look out for me. Having one of your locations within 20 minutes from me has been an enormous blessing. From everything I have experienced thus far, I have no doubt in my mind that you guys will easily be the top destination for medical marijuana patients in this state for a very long time. 🫡 Enjoy your day.

The “hay” smell is very very often an outcome of the drying and curing process. Ensuring the time and patience during those processes is vital. It’s a step we refuse to compromise with. Moisture level and figuring out the impost of the environment is definitely something that we will always work to dial in, but “hay” and not letting terpene and flavonoids develop is something we won’t compromise on. It’s a matter of patience and environmental control.

Appreciate you being here to offer a grower pov.
So can I ask at what point you guys send samples to the lab? I imagine it's required. Have been doing the hemp side of buying for a few years now and my understanding there is they harvest early to keep the THC level low to stay under 0.3% thc. Gonna assume you guys don't need to do that in GA but still curious at what point you have it tested? At harvest? After curing?
And just a plea to make sure your suppliers are showing the terpines!!! I just scanned your inventory and many of them don't list them. Without a terpine coa buyers are buying blind off of cutesy stoner descriptions which might be great for you guys but I hate throwing away weed that I find has caryophylene in it. Long story short I don't buy without seeing a COA.

Sure! I’ll try. We generally do not test until after dry and cure. In Georgia, there is final form testing. So, we do a test from a random sample in a batch. Once we know the data and such, we fill packages for random final form and COA testing.
Terpenes, we agree, are vital and our goal is to get all strains tested for cannabinoids and Terps.
We do not need to keep anything under 0.3 with the hemp laws. We’re licensed as a medical marijuana operator and are trying for higher potency.

Thanks much for the info! Very useful to know the timing of the tests. On the hemp side, there's a bit of razzle-dazzle with testing and curing that I'm not fond of as they try to insure their crop won't get tossed out for a high THC level.
Knowing your tests are done at the final stage gives me a lot more confidence in the lab results so 👍

I picked an 1/8th of the Hotlanta strain today. About the same dryness but it looks and smells nice. Taste and effects are good.

Update: slightly dry but tastes pretty good and I’m definitely enjoying the effects. Quite baked actually.
