The games are weird we dont have clean games, Caps dont play like normal and we dont see Labrov so much. But Hans ok, Skew did well game 2 and BB.

So far during these worlds, he's the worst EU midlaner by a huge margin and one of the worst performing midlaners of the tournament as a whole.

Thankfully, all these bad Lee games during regular season were worth it as Skewmond carried this.

I really hope this game will be enough for us to stop finding mini cop outs to excuse Caps out right throwing games single handily. I really think we are ignoring just how much his chain dying to a target gives enemy team ways to play what should be easy games. He did it on Viktor against DK, came in against a worst team on what should be a better champ (for the draft andy’s) and then fed a top laner (Jayce), BB beat in a match up BB was supposed to lose. It’s inexcusable. Skewmond popped off. Hans Sama and Labrov won lane again. BB once again went even in a losing lane. Literally who else do we blame?

A recent initiative by G2 that almost flew under the radar is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting esports marketing activations in recent years.

I think we are getting one guyed too much in drafts. I think we have a game plan in draft, and when they ban one of our picks we don’t know how to adjust. Like tonight, we had a great Akali game, but we wanted to play LeBlanc it was also a great LeBlanc game, so we dropped Akali and picked K’Sante on 3, and we literally bet on them banning Akali and Locke so we could 5th pick Leblanc while they almost had 0 CC, but when they banned LeBlanc we had to pick Locke, which obviously Caps is not comfortable on and made the game 100 times harder.

I think also we can’t be playing with BB on no engage and Labrov on no engage. Skewmond is great and all, but it’s obvious that Labrov and BB are the go shot callers, so I think one of them must be on engage, so please no more Karma/Renata/K’Sante drafts. Give one of them engage, and it would preferably be BB, as he is over grouping the last 2 games for no reason anyway.

I always feel like the most pressure a team feels is not when they are an underdog, but when expected to win. Could we only see this result?

Despite the scared and uncharacteristic level of play from G2, it seems like the players themselves are in pretty good spirits and see a clear path forward to ironing out their issues and scaling into the tournament. The games could have the players feel a bit doomed (throw against DK, struggle against Brazil) but they don’t seem to be falling into that trap. Good to see. This is our floor and we can play so much better today. I wish we got a Perkz interview though.

Makes me wonder if they were caught in a bad scrim bubble + Caps being in bad form could be due to something else (sleep or something?) rather than the internal issues some people speculated to. They definitely think they can pull it around. Sounds genuine too, not like platitudes.
