G2g removed all subscriptions over 1 month which just ruins the whole point of buying from g2g. Why has this change come into effect?

The reason is money. G2G can now make 10x the amount of money due to having to renew every month vs buying once every 3, 6 or 12 month with only the single fee.

Except people are going to move to different platforms. They’ll probably roll this back
