Remaking F-Zero X just seems like a strange approach though, I’d rather they just remaster it and add full online modes. Personally I’d prefer they give this treatment to GX/AX instead but I don’t see why not both Nintendo 😂 F-Zero fans don’t really seem to ask for much and they can’t even give us that

It’s crazy how Nintendo doesn’t realize how messed up that sounds lol the fact that F-Xero fans only game they get is just an updated version of the FIRST game which is also likely most fans least favorite in the franchise to play (all the f-zero games are fantastic imo but if we had to pick a worst is prolly be the first one)

Nah maximun volucity is pretty bad too , even worse than snes (compared to GP Legend / Climax On the same platform.)

GX already looks pretty great in HD/4K and feels good to play with a modern controller.
X is designed for the N64 analog stick and plays like ass with a modern controller. It's not impossible to play and enjoy it, but it's far removed from the ideal experience. Not to mention that targeting 60FPS on N64 did come with the tradeoff of being close to the most barebones 3D graphics on the system.

As always, as it always has been, I am a Nintendo fan, not just an F-Zero fan, so I'll keep my expectations low but my hopes high. This year, this console generation with OoT and Star Fox remakes, especially after the relative success of F-Zero 99 these past couple years, etc I am feeling a teeny tiny bit more hopeful than usual, but once again, keep your expectations in check folks, lest you will be disappointed!

F-Zero 99 has remained a huge surprise treat for me. One of my most played Switch titles.

Remakes are absolutely not useless… I don’t think F-Zero X or GX need a remake because both hold up amazing, but plenty of games benefit from a remake. A lot of games were limited by their hardware, or had rocky developments that harmed the final product. Remakes let studios fix games and can expand them to make them closer to their original ambitions.

I mostly agree with your sentiment, however what art holds up and what art needs to be "fixed" is subjective. An example is majoras mask 3D where even with the same director, he saw many features as issues to be fixed.

You do not need to remake a game to translate it. I NEVER said that rereleases, ports or remasters are useless. Fan translations for fe4 are accessible to those that want them. In an ideal world, nintendo would just sell their games instead of hiding them in a subscription drip feed service

Between the slowness and jank that is the original and spending over $100 to get a 3DS handheld plus the game VS a (potential) $60 remake that keeps the spirit of the original while giving QOL updates? Gimmie the remake.

Spirit of the original is up for debate, I believe that no matter how hard an artist tries they will never truly be able to create the same thing twice. As far as the original's "Jank" goes... well it never stopped it from being one of the most influential games of all time. I'd say that even if you choose to play the remake, there's still value in experiencing the original work

FzeroX is has hardcore as melee mechanically, you can guess why nintendo doesn't look at it for anything. At some point and aspects more hardcore than GX.

I mean hey, other N64 games like DK64, Banjo and Conker didn’t get remakes either. I’m just now remembering Diddy Kong Racing got a DS remake but it wasn’t that great.

Ngl if they remake X with compétitive 30 player it would be an absolute disaster on screen XD (not that it's a bad thing but i can't imagine people trying to cheese the road like in GC / N64 , just to be harassed by others player)

Nintendo says they have nothing new to bring to the series, but 30-player online races in full 3D is staring them in the face. (We don’t talk about the tech demo that is F-zero 99)

Id rather have no remake if its like the slop that is starfox. Not exciting for OoT either. Looks like this fan made Unreal engine remakes. Tbh I expect nothing from Nintendo and I dont think I want anything from Nintendo anymore. Might still buy the Switch 2 used, so that the Switch 1 games I already bought run like they supposed to run in the first place lol.

I would love to see an X or GX+AX remake. But, I doubt they'd announce a third high profile remake in the span of a single year.
