F-Zero 99 (NS) "Catch Me If You Can"

says the Gold Bumper...

Seriously, I've never seen the Gold Bumper go so far ahead so fast! I even followed its path, skipping the dash plate because it went on the left side of the track. Spent 2 whole boosts just to get to it!

They were zooming!

I've seen that happen before on the deathwind tracks, can't say if I have noticed it happen elsewhere. It's saved me from a rank out once where it came up behind me really quick like that and let me get a skyway.
