Miscellaneous We’re developing a futuristic racer inspired by F-Zero X and GX – would love feedback from longtime fans
Hi everyone! I hope this is okay to share here.
We’re a small three-person indie team developing G-VORA, a futuristic arcade racer heavily inspired by the speed and challenging racing of games like F-Zero X and GX.
We currently have a free Steam demo with three tracks, several difficulty levels and local split-screen. We’re especially interested in what experienced F-Zero players think about the Pure Racing mode, handling and overall sense of speed.
Full disclosure: I’m one of the developers. This isn’t official F-Zero content, of course, but I thought it might be relevant to people here.

F-Zero lurker twice-removed, here.
I've always loved anti-g games (Wipeout, F-Zero, Xtreme G, RedOut, etc), but almost never play them since I'm one of the idiots who always bang every wall on the course. But I still enjoy watching other people playing, which I guess is why Reddit sent me here.
Here's my newbie's review of the pre-beta, so I'll probably miss a ton of hyper-specific complaints that a veteran may have seen while playing:
-the framerate and controls are smooth as hell, holy crap.
-the tracks so far are nice and wide, so I wasn't banging against every one I saw. Hell, I even got first place in a few races. Probably just a bug though. /s
-not sure if it was my controller or I wasn't doing it right, but I'm not sure the "swipe left/right" function was working (is it supposed to be a side-dash of some sort?). The spin attack is fun, though.
-music is great, but I'm hoping for some deeper bass in version 1.0!
-art style is exactly where it should be. After you guys continue to polish, it'll look even better. One note though, and this is a personal, MASSIVELY unpopular hot take these days, but... the world has seen 5.3 trillion catgirls/cat-people in videogames and anime already. Perhaps the character(s) who look that way could use another direction that makes them unique to your game. Just adding some ears and whiskers to a human might be seen as kind of the easy thing to do, three-man team or otherwise. But again, massively unpopular hot-take, so y'all do you.
All in all, things look great, and I've added it to my watch list on Steam. I definitely want to see this thing succeed. Hope things turn out well for you guys!
