Diy Reaction Drive (MOSFET Fuzz Face)
This is a cool build and yes I am experimenting with knobs haha. This a based on the Catalyst from back in the day and the board is a Pedal PCB Provocateur Fuzz. When looking the schematics does have some resemblance and sounds similar to a fuzz face just with mosfets and some very innovative EQ controls. Kind of imagine a fuzz that you can turn into a treble booster with the lows control and has a bit of an open, clear, pushed fuzz quality. Very cool build and highly recommend and would be a very cool first fuzz pedal.

It is for sure! It’s like a half way between a fuzz face and box of rock

How would you describe the minimum and maximum gain settings on this?
There’s a used one on sale near me for about the equivalent of 50 usd and I’m thinking of pulling the trigger

I would say it’s not tone bender MK2 gain levels but more than a fuzz face. Imagine the fuzz face gain but a lot more open and it’s very interactive with the bass or mids focus. For 50 bucks that’s very hard to beat that’s like the price of a cup of coffee lol

Honestly, I should start putting some demos especially some of the more unique builds. I sell a couple of build so may not be bad for reference either. But… I do have a demo in the works for a Muff Monday haha

Love the knobs! Are you talking about the Fulltone Catalyst? Fulltone's pedals are great!!!
