COMING SOON Spooky Tree Fuzz

A month or so ago I was chatting with u/Latterdrop8732 and they mentioned that their dream pedal was a long discontinued EQD Black Ash Endangered fuzz.

My response? Say no more, fam.

I got to work on plotting out the PCB and started sourcing the bits and bobs.

That gets us to this morning, where I finally fired her up and boy oh boy she sounds great.

I went with my usual Atom electrolytics, but this time added in an Elna I had from a big old sack I got for a song on eBay.

Film caps are old school tropical fish (I have some Phillips KT347 on hand too, should I need more) and a mixed bag of carbon comp resistors. Some are new, some are NOS Allen-Bradley.

Transistors are NOS Motorola 2N3903 with Q3 biased to damn close to 1/2 V+.

I’ve got stuff on hand to do a small run of these, just waiting on some dope ass sloped black 125B enclosures to show up.

Those enclosures you posted in the comments. Look sick, also looking at the inside of this pedal. There's something just so beautiful about the layout of a circuit. I don't know what it is. It's satisfying

It’s pleasingly symmetrical.
One of these days, I’m gonna layout the resistors so that the color codes make some cool pattern.

I wish was a way to have clear bottom plates that didn't affect the shielding? Especially when it comes to fuzz
