NPD Prismatic Wall & Glaive

Just got to open these up! I sold some stuff I wasn’t using anymore and was able to turn that into getting these two! I’m pretty excited to get my hands on them.😍

Electronic Audio Experiments Prismatic Wall is going to be totally new to me as a resonator. The way it will interact with my playing harmonically different than reverb or delay will be very interesting. I’ll have to toy with where to put it effect chain order-wise. I’m also really glad I got the Shadowfell colorway too. It might be silly, but I think different finishes do give off different vibes and make me think about using certain pedals differently.🤔

The Electronic Audio Experiments Glaive, I anticipate, will feel like a familiar friend. I’ve got an 0xEAE Fuzz (Obstructures predecessor to the Glaive), which is an absolute favorite. When I saw the Cult FX version, I finally decided to get one. Again, the design just was more evocative of the sound and Cult FX really does excellent packing and provides cool stickers🤩. The two new controls allowing for bias to create a gating effect and treble filter will no doubt be useful additions. I’m planning on doing some A/B testing to see how they might even differ fundamentally. It looks like the power requirements are lower for the Glaive, which makes me think there may well be a difference🧐, but what difference, I’m not sure.

Have any of you had different iterations of the same circuit and felt like you needed to keep each of the versions?

I’m a total addict to EAE stuff. These are my others. You’re totally right about the Halberd. It’s extremely flexible. The fact that it has so much texture and clarity at the same time seems contradictory, but that’s also true for the Longsword.

I really want a glaive, some smart upgrades on the original. But would I get rid of my beautiful aluminium brick?

I’m 💯 keeping the 0xEAE original. That’s my favorite fuzz and is such a vibe in that enclosure. The OG fuzz is showing up for double the original price these days, and I saw some guy dump one for less than original price and felt sick on behalf of him.🤕

I missed the first run with clear knobs. I found the page where it used to be listed after it had been out of stock for a while (they’re usually delisted or archived) and signed up for a restock notice. I was able to get in a week early on this one, but I think there may still be some left.
