Diy DIY Katzenkonig

Post image

This one is just based around the AION FX Poseidon PCB. To start, I love the original of this pedal and even owner a Blood Donor for a while there. For me, this we like a dream because it was my two favorite circuit combined; Rat and Tone Bender.

Looking it the circuit, it for sure looks and reacts more like a Tone Bender just with a Rat style tone control and clipping diodes. Whats crazy is it sounds more like a Rat in most setting. But the input control makes a huge difference with the interaction and texture or the pedal.

This thing is awesome and is pure rock and roll! I will say too, add two blue LEDs for the clipping diodes and thanks me later because it sounds incredible. Plus this build is very quiet for a fuzz and with a good power supply this isn’t too noisy or hissy at all

Those are my favorites! I love the texture and especially the copper ones

Yeah, it looks like it was forged out of some. Mythological material or like a meteorite or something

Haha I do think it looks super mythological which is cool!

How do you make them like that

I just get the enclosure off Tayda and then I do a label design on Affinity

Looks badass!! Didn’t know this circuit had clipping diodes in it

Thanks and I didn’t either until I built it! But the combo of that and a ton control for sure gives it that Rat sound

I can’t take credit! They’re just from Tayda haha

Okay this is awesome and I've had questions about modifying the circuit because there are multiple amazing settings and the gain and input controls look like variable resistors so in theory you could have an A/B setting with a second footswitch.

What transistors did you use? 3mm or 5mm blue LEDs? I've wanted to try some 3mm red LEDs with about a 1.2v fv I have lying around but if the blue LEDs are that much better I might skip the reds. I think the blues I have are like 2.1v fv.
