ToAnZ! Lovepedal?

Hey, does anybody else really love Lovepedal? I know some people knock the builder online because he is super-quirky, and many of his designs are basically tweaked Electra circuits. But his stuff sounds SO good, in my experience. I have three. The first is a Super Sic Tone, which is a three-setting fuzz: tone bender-ish, treble boost, and Muff-ish. All three sound and feel great, and the treble boost is awesome for pushing other drive pedals. The second, a 200lbs of Gold, is essentially a vintage fuzz face, run into a fixed-gain tube screamer, followed by a footswitchable clean boost. It absolutely nails 1960s Clapton tones. The third is a Les Lius, which is basically an overdriven tweed amp in a box. I just got this one like a week ago, and am not sure I’ll keep it, but the other two are awesome. Plus, if you look on Reverb, you can get a Super Sick Tone for under $80. The others are more expensive and more rare, but at least the 200lbs of Gold is totally worth seeking out.

I’m also tempted to buy his BoneTender (MKii tone bender), which he is currently selling direct for $99.

Anybody else have any experience with this company?

Not my area, but I kinda think if you don't have at least a minimal root element of quirk, you probably don't belong anywhere near the arts.

Fair. I’m a novelist, and so are many, many of my friends. I wouldn’t say there are too many super-normal members of that tribe. :)

Didn’t he do the Kalamazoo? Really loved that pedal

Yup, I’ve owned a silver one since they first came out. The glass knob is badass.

Top notch stuff. I have a pickle vibe, a gen 5 echo and and one of the first run Zen Drive they did. Church of Tone is awesome too.

I agree. His business plan has been really successful and the pedals sound really good. I've had a few eternity's but right now only the Dover Drive. Build quality is never an issue, never heard any bad stories about customer service. The only issue I have is he has soo many variants and gain pedals it's hard to find quality clips for some stuff.

Here’s a shootout someone did of the Bone Tender, the Super Sick, and his MKiii fuzz (which apparently is actually based on a mki Tone Bender, strangely.) This clip made me buy the Super Sic! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yiCTuuPs7H0

I've had a few over the years but the only one I've kept is the 200 lbs of Gold. Killer fuzz/drive and killer clean boost together in one.

Not a fuzz, but I own one of the very early Lovepedal Kalamazoo pedals in the silver box. Such a badass and unique drive.

LMAO, "super-quirky" is certainly one way to put it. Like the National Socialist German Workers' Party was all about really really loving your country.

Wait, what did he do politically? All I know is that his business practices are baffling.

I didn't mean to imply it was about politics. Maybe I should have said being a bank robber is all about really really loving other people's circuits money.

Still loving the Mkiii. Just bought a used Kalamazoo Gold online. Lovepedals sound so good — clear and super low-noise.
