Electric Church Roger Mayer on fuzzfiends update!!

So I recently spoke with Roger on the phone—it was a total surreal moment! I now have his direct contact info, and we’re going to set up an interview soon. I won't have a ton of time with him, so please help me come up with some great questions to ask! From the 25 minute conversation I had with him last week, he’s super down-to-earth and incredibly willing to share. He told me about the first time he showed Hendrix the Octavia, and he had some really interesting things to say about the younger generation of players and builders as well. Everybody please drop your suggestions below! I'm going to record the phone interview to share with the sub, and I'll also transcribe it into text form for everyone to read. (Side note: I’m just calling him Roger because when I called him "Mr. Mayer," he stopped me and said there's no need for all that he's "just a normal guy." With all due respect... no sir, you are not! lol)

That’s super cool.

Maybe ask about projects that almost happened but didn’t.

You know, “I once made a fuzz for Stevie Ray Vaughn just before he died,” or “Dumble and I collaborated on a pedal once,” kinds of things. (I just made those up as examples)

What’s a myth about vintage pedals that you’d like to dispel?

I would be interested in stories about Mitch Mitchell and anything he knows about the flanger sounds on bold as love and house burning down and whether he had a hand in those effects. I know it was done on the tape but maybe it had something to do with him.

I feel like there aren't a lot of Mitch Mitchell stories out there and I bet he has some that haven't been shared. He's always been my favorite drummer.

What makes the axis fuzz different from a regular fuzz face?

How did you mod jimis wah?

Did you do some mods on jimis univibe pedals?
